Dozens steal Californian's identity

At least 81, mostly likely illegals, use number in 17 states

By Peter Prengaman
Associated Press

DUBLIN, Calif. — Audra Schmierer's Social Security number really gets around. It has been used by at least 81 people in 17 states, most of them probably illegal immigrants trying to get work.

Jeff Chiu, Associated Press

Audra Schmierer eyes a map as she talks about sites where people used her ID number to get work. The federal government took years to discover the number was being used illegally, but authorities took little action even then.
"They knew what was happening but wouldn't do anything," said Schmierer, 33, a housewife in this affluent San Francisco suburb. "One name, one number, why can't they just match it up?"

I don't know anyone on here be they Pro or Anti that agrees with illegal immigration.Nor open borders. The only differences I do see is our understanding of what has created the situation and how to handle it.So are facts like the Trade Agreements which have encouraged this mass immigration not understood or are they just lost in all the uproar over people illegally immigrating?

Since it costs the taxpayers so much, and so many illegals are imprisoned etc., and all of the other negatives that go with it, shouldn't they at least raise the penalty for illegal immigration to a felony level. Seems like Congress was thinking about doing this at one time.
It would perhaps make illegals think twice, if they knew they would be facing stiff jail sentences and high fines.

First, I am not talking about illegal immigraton so please don't comment on that.

Currently in our country we don't have a big industrial working class that works on farms and factories. That is why we are outsourcing all of the jobs to China. If we put a working class in the USA then we could take jobs back and then it would help our economy because they are spending money here instead of other countries (therefore stimulating our economy). It would obviously be good for the immigrants also, because they get jobs. It would help prevent Communist China from becoming the next superpower also.

The border patrol agents and the national guard are all immigrants help the immigrants.
Does the patrol refuse to stop the immigrants because it would cut off the marijuana supply?
Do the courts and patrol like peso's?
Immigrant bashers refuse to admit defeat. Keep it up. You will see CA, AZ, NM, TX go bye bye.

now that school started there seems to be a tendency going on , every single class room is overcrowded due to the many immigrants which had to leave their country , yet even with this going on the Jordan government has started making preparations because they think it is their duty to educate those kids just because of the fact than they are Muslims .

i must say that i find this kind of intriguing because of the constant media which in my opinion tries to make us think than there is not good people amongst the Muslims so i was thinking and wondered which would the opinion of the people in this forum would be :

are the Muslims better people than we think ???

are they actually better than us ???

( i do not think so but the constant complains make me wonder and i applaud the good Aptitude of the jordanian government )

what da ya think ;) ???

The Treaty says all Mexican's livinbg in California and ther progeny would be treated exactly as American citizens. The Supreme courts of both countries take that to mean any territories that became states were to be included. If all the riff raff that racist blurt is true why don't they tell it to the Supreme Court instead of from the soap box?
I have read the treaty and going by what I have said it meant and by what has happened I know it's meaning better than anyone here.

The Treaty defined the exact MX/USA border. It gives MEXICAN CITIZENS SPECIAL RIGHTS in USA. Some Americans want immigration to stop. That treaty was never ratified by Mexico. Mexico can ratifuy it anytime they see fit. America did ratifify it. If America tries to build a fence Mexico will hold them to the border in the treaty. If America follows the treaty's border they will have consumated the treaty. Then nothing will stop the immigration. MX has the US by the short hairs. Mexico plans to reclaim the land they believe was stolen from them. Nothing is going to stop them. If someone tries you will understand the United Nations reason for existing better.

I often see people saying that rising immigration will lead to rising crime, including murder. However, when one looks at crime statistics for major US cities, the lowest murder rates are mostly in cities with huge Hispanic populations, like El Paso and Corpus Christi. The highest murder rates are in cities like Detroit and Baltimore, which have very small Hispanic communities. Am I missing something, or are the anti-immigration people making things up to try to have a stronger case against immigration?

Koch Foods in Fairfield, Ohio, was raided by about 300 agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Fairfield police and Butler County Sheriff's deputies, they surrounded the building just after 9am and by 11:45am, 160 people out of 180 that were questioned were handcuffed and arrested.

Butler County, Ohio, Sheriff's Department spokesman Sgt. Monte Mayer said hundreds of federal agents, sheriff's deputies and other local law-enforcement officers joined forces in a raid at Koch Foods in Fairfield, Ohio, in what he called "the latest crackdown on illegal aliens and the businesses who employ them."

As of early afternoon, Sgt. Mayer said more than 160 people had been arrested on immigration violations.

Immigration spokesman Richard Rocha said the operation was the end result of a two-year investigation.

"I've been saying for 2½ years we're coming," said Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones during a news conference Tuesday afternoon. "Don't have illegals. Don't violate the law. I personally have no sympathy for you whatsoever."

Cracking down on employers is one of the most important aspects of controlling the border because those employers and one of the major reasons people cross the border illegally.

apparently, there's this huge immigration problem, but i haven't noticed it. there's tons of immigrants where i live, and everything seems fine. i thought all of the immigration was supposed to make society crumble around me- that sounds interesting, and i wouldn't mind seeing it, but it doesn't seem to be happening.

am i just really lucky to be in a place where immigration isn't causing total anarchy?

That illegal who left her son here when she was rightfully returned to Mexico recently had been caught breaking our immigration laws and deported once already. Then she broke the law again and snuck back in. Do the math and she immediately concieved a child. Then she broke another law and stole a social security number to get a job. Having been caught, this "three striker" elected to leave her son HERE. A little KID! She droped him here to make a point. My mom would have never done that to me! She's not allowed back in for a visit. We should keep a watch on the boy. If she shows up, it should bring a jail sentence. Then he can visit her in Calipatria State Prison, or perhaps Donovan. It's closer to the border and Warden Hernandez has many special programs for incarcerated illegals.

Who has the most to loose from all the immigrants? I mean besides all the extra energy, food, water and tax dollars being wasted on these people. what group of people have the most to loose? If you look at what kind of people are comming, "unskilled menial labor" these are the poorest of the poor people. African Americans make up the greatest amount of disheveled peoples in our country, who are employed at most of these jobs. if all the illegals are able to stay, dont you think that they will take these jobs away. and at a cheaper price? Just your thoughts.

Most people here in the U.S. seem to despise immigrants, especially those from Mexico and Central America. They criticize these people for seeking a better life in the U.S. and say they should try to make thing better in their native country. But really, almost everyone in the U.S. is descended from immigrants, mostly from europe. Does this mean that if your ancestors moved to the U.S. at some point, they should have just stayed in their own country and tried to "make things better there"? By that logic, everyone who isn't native american should move to whatever country their ancestors lived in. So it seems very hypocritical to me to criticize people from Mexico and Central America for immigrating to the U.S. unless you are a native american.

MEXICO CITY: The recently deported illegal migrant and activist who took refuge in a Chicago church for a year, has asked the Mexico's president to appoint her "peace and justice" ambassador so she can return to the United States. Elvira Arellano, 32, who sought refuge to avoid being separated from her U.S.-born, 8-year-old son, was arrested and sent back to Mexico on Aug. 19 after traveling to Los Angeles to attend a rally for the overhaul of U.S. immigration laws. Her son stayed in the United States. "What I'm asking for is a diplomatic visa so that I can be an ambassador for peace and justice because I'm not a terrorist and the United States can't continue treating undocumented migrants as terrorists," Arellano told reporters after meeting with President Felipe Calderon at the presidential residence, Los Pinos. In a news release, the president's office said Arellano asked the Mexican government to help her get a visa so she can enter the United States but it did not mention Arellano's request for a diplomatic appointment. Calderon asked Foreign Secretary Patricia Espinosa to "look into the situation that Mrs. Arellano and her son face and to approach U.S. authorities so that we can respond to (her) request," it said. Arellano became a national symbol for illegal immigrant parents by defying her deportation order and speaking out from Chicago's Adalberto United Methodist Church, where she sought sanctuary with her son on Aug. 15, 2006. On Saturday, hundreds of people marched in Los Angeles in support of Arellano.http://www.iht.com/bin/print.php?id=7296579

I live in Houston Tx, and the majority of my property taxes are due to non-insured medical expenses at local hospitals and educational needs for non-citizen students. These medical expenses are a result of non-emergency related visits to local hospitals. The schools here do not teach the immigrant children English so they require separate school programs. Not that I have to mention it but a lot of these "kids" are outfitted with free school supplies, breakfast and lunch. With all of these facts, should I not be permitted to claim these illegals? My family has a yearly loss of thousands of dollars. So my thoughts on this issue are simple, " If my family has to do without for the well-being of illegals, should I not be reimbursed?" I don't have insurance and I buy my own food so whats the deal? At the risk of sounding racist I ask this question. If you dont understand my problem and you live in an illegal rich community, I suggest you take a closer look at your property taxes.
