I'm not against immigration, I think it's really good he became valedictorian even though he's illegal. I'm all in for the Dream Act. Seriously, can you believe that he ended up becoming that!

I'm sure that out of about 2 million valedictorians around the country that a few are illegals. Illegal immigrants are no different in intelligence then citizens yet this is a suprise to people?
But DAR said it best. They do not have the "right" to take the OVER $10,000 per year out of the taxpayers pockets for their education.

If he is so smart, then he'll realize that since he is here illegally that he will need to exit the country and then reenter to apply for citizenship.

Just because he's from another country does not make him mindless. What is unbelievable about that? He worked hard for that and who are you to say he doesn't deserve it?

How much did the other kids' education suffer because of the funds diverted to educate those who shouldn't be here?
It costs $10,000 per year per child to educate a child in California. I am glad your friend didn't waste their opportunity, however, that money was taken from the education of others who belong here, and their schools and classes were more crowded, accordingly.
What makes that right?
