Your absolutely right about not having an industrial working class. Part of that is due to over regulation on consumer goods at a cost to the manufacturer and the end user. If the government would restrict businesses less, then those immigrants would be able to be used and off of the dole as most people feel. China is a super power unfortunately, we're too late. Great comments by the way. Very thought provoking.
Thanks alot.

NO, in fact immigration should only be to help the family's of true Americans immigrate into this country, all others should not be allowed into the system at all, this would clean the whole mess up and make many family's happy to be back together, but until the INS changes the way they do things immigration problems will continue forever, as for workers well we as Americans are willing to work but the problem is that most all of use have fallen onto spending more that we make on things we really don't need and in order to pay for those things we must work for a high dollar per hour job, yes this is crazy but marketing in America is very good and if you don't buy the latest toys you don't blend into everyone image of a American, we must change our thinking soon or we all will suffer hunger due to stupidity.

That is a great question and the answers so far are just individual opinions which is OK too.
However the real answer to your question can ONLY be answered intelligently by the professionals who run the DEpt of IMMIGRATION in Washington.
These folks eat, live, sleep and dream about every aspect of immigration. They have data bases showing how many workers in each are (agriculture, business, healthcare, tech etc) are needed in the next 25 years.
They know the food supply , the housing availability and every other requirement needed for new citizens.
Let them make the decisions as how many will be allowed.
We ordinary people do not have the data needed to make that assessment.

We need to slow down the amount of people they are allowing to become citizens. We are so over filled. Spending billions of dollars on what for what? Most true American born citizens don't get the same advantages as some immigrants illegal and newly legal. The money should be spent on taking care of the elderly, who BTW were the ones who have helped build this country, not the Mexicans. And on tuition assistance expenses for true American Citizens whether it be loans or grants. There are some Mexicans who have had ALL there tuition payed for by tax payers. What kind of BS is that? And illegal at that.

Funny we used to, before they made it legal to fire Americans, and started outsourcing the jobs. But before they did that, the outsourcing of jobs, they first created part-time work, and no benefits for those who worked those jobs. Then every time minimum wages were raised, do to cost of living, they started firing employees to keep up with the costs to continue to run their businesses. Then they started shutting down businesses, and laying off groups of people at a time because of the costs. Then they started buying and chopping up businesses, and selling those off for profit. Then the outsourcing came into the picture.
Why not put Americans back to work first? Then only a capped number amount of legal immigrants? And paying them all decent family wages? Even if they are single?
And if you think your idea will work, it won't. Only because for the businesses and employers, it's all about the profit dollars. And they have no intentions of sharing their wealth to give decent wages to anyone here legally. That includes Americans.
And China doesn't have all the outsourced jobs. India, Indonesia, Singapore, Korea, are among them too.

America doesn't lack an underclass of low-skill agricultural and manufacturing workers for lack of population. There are millions of Americans languishing in poverty or living on the dole, who could be put to such labor. They just couldn't be paid enough to /live/ in America while doing it. The value-add of labor in some of the industries in those sectors is just below the cost of keeping an American alive, let alone happy.
America is an expensive country. Land is expensive, housing is expensive, transportation is expensive, food is expensive, medical care is outrageously expensive. Part of it is just exchange rates - the Chinese Yaun is kept artificially low through constant intervention by thier government to keep Chinese exports unbeatably cheap. But, a large part of it has been the concerted effort in America, for close to a century by both the government, labor unions, and even the hated Big Business to 'raise the standard of living.' Though it's been successful to a large degree, one consequence of paying Americans more is that many things have become more expensvie, and, another consequence is that low-value labor simply can't be done here, economically. Were it not for the ability to trade with other countries for the produce of such labor, America couldn't even exist in the form it does.

We have outsourced a lot of our factories and farming is done by legal and illegals but we are also building machinery that will replace much of our farm labor with in the next 20 yrs.as it has done in other countries.
Most of the people that come here are from third world countries. We need less not more of them
Remember immigrants from third world countries ,are poor, uneducated they do not levitate they need housing medical /health services all the needs to live. Who is going to pay for all of this. YOU.

China has no human rights protection for its people, they have a class of slaves basically. Is this what you want for the immigrants in the United States? count me out.
They have an underworld of indentured servants and sweatshops that the news media does not show. The coal miners in China die in mass because they have no regulations to provide even the most basic of worker protections. Without rewinding the clock several centuries before workers and human rights we can not compete.
The only thing that could possible stop China is China itself with inferior and unsafe products.

From what paranoid information source did you get this? there is no enemies checklist. you're thinking of George W. Bush, who indulged in warrantless wiretaps and searches and who, with Dick Cheney, created the "in case you do no longer consider us, you're a traitor" mentality we are nevertheless attempting to recover from. needless to say, you haven't any longer gotten over it and can't comprehend that the present administration does not function this way. Edit: A weblog??? you're mentioning a weblog?? nicely, then, it's going to be authentic if some fascist sitting in his undies donning a tinfoil hat says it extremely is. Edit: All i will say is, if the anti-Obama crowd were this prepared final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, McCain may be President now. Thank god all you all of us is able to doing is criticize and injury fairly than arise with any new recommendations on your man or woman. You all sound like grasping, paranoid cretins.

Natural resources are finite.
The USA cannot support a few billion more people, we don't have the natural resources, the economic resources, we don't have a reliable infrastructure (ours is aged and unstable), we don't have the capacity to medicate, educate, feed, house and subsidize all of the worlds needy and poor.
Sorry, but it's time for the USA to stop being the worlds baby-daddy, we have poor and needy citizens here in our own nation. Nobody in any other country is helping support our poor. How about we export all of our welfare citizens to another nation for them to support, feed, educate, medicate, house? What country do you think would take them?
Call me a nationalist, this is the nation of my ancestors, it's not an insult to me, it's a compliment.
