sorry to ask again but i didnt really get a straight answer the last time i asked this question. Im a British Citizen and wish to have my friend come to visit me here in the UK for a holiday. I was just interested to know why some countries require for you to obtain a visa before you come here and some dont. what separates the countries that need them from those that dont? i would really apprecite someone who knows to take their time in explaining to me.

I was born in the US with a US father and British Mother. So currently I have a US passport. Previuosly I could not apply for British citizenship on my Mothers side due to rule did not come into effect until 1982 and it was not retroactive. They have now passed a rule that if i was born after 1961 I can now become a UK citizen. I am in the process of doing this. Can I keep my US passport and be a dual citizen?

No offense but if you have noticed it, Mexicans are very patriotic to Mexico, but they hate it there. Just because the U.S. offers jobs isn't a legit answer because a lot of immigrants "not only mexicans" just live here on welfare and section 8. And do not even look for a job. I do not understand. Back in the 1900s Russian immigrants from the communist U.S.S.R. didn't go around being Nationalists in the U.S. thats why they came here. I believe ILLEGAL immigration is a problem. If you want to come here at least come with documents, and if you have no way of getting any then I guess you lucked out or need to work harder. Life isnt fair... Right, you cant pick your life, sometimes you get a shitty deal.

When I lived in San Antonio, I had a T-shirt of Speedy Gonzales that featured his friendly image. A couple of Chicanos told me at an art opening one night, “That shirt is racist.” I replied, “Speedy is kind, helpful, smart, energetic and he always wins. You guys are right. He ain’t a Mexican at all.” Fortunately, their switchblades jammed as I did an impersonation of Speedy..
