I am a us citizen, and mid 2006 I applied for the fiancée visa for my fiancée, who is a Chinese citizen living in Hangzhou, China. We were approved by the USCIS and a little over a month ago the US Consulate in Guangzhou mailed her paperwork for processing on the Chinese side. One of the items on her checklist is a copy of my I-134 Affidavit of Support form.

My problem is that when I applied for her visa I was then employed in a very good position at a small internet services company. On November 17, 2006, due to financial problems with the company, I was laid off. Since that time, I weighed my options for new career choices and decided to start my own consulting company. I am starting this company on a very limited budget and unfortunately I have very few financial assets and do not look very good on paper right now. I have about 12K in credit card debt, 12K left in my IRA account, and about 5K in stocks. I do not own my own home as I was divorced about 2 years ago.

Has the recent infux of illegal immigration into the US made it more difficult for people to immigrate legally?

Easier?

Or has it stayed the same?

Why do you think so?

why should we deny these children a future? yeah, sure, the parents came here illegally, but i thought this was a land of oppurtinity. yes, i'm aware that some illegals bring down property value, go on welfare, yadda-yadda, but they give us something, though..culture. cesar chavez, anyone? thomas ALVA edison? we would not have unions, and we'd still be reading by candlelight. so, back to the question. why are we gonna punish these so called "anchor babies"?

Ok so this is very important to me. recently my father traveled to the dominican republic, He is a US recident, and while on his trip there his resident card and social security were stolen. He filed a report at the police station, but they are telling him he needs to wait two months. Also everytime he goes to see if the report is done they ask him for things he doesnt have to give him the report. Such as his residence card or ssc, which i honestly think they are giving him the run around, because that is why he made the report because it was stolen.
Is there some kind of letter i can get for him in the immigration office in the USA to send him by express mail to dominican republic so he can re-enter the usa? If so can you tell me what i need to show or bring so they can verify im his daughter.

Any answers will be greatly appreciated .
PLEASE HELP

If our borders were closed and armed this accident would have never happen. He was deported and he crawled back over the border.

"Mexico has extremely strict immigration law for both legal and illegal immigrants. Certain legal rights are waived in the case of foreigners, such as the right to a deportation hearing or other legal motions. In cases of flagrant delicts, such as a person declaring they entered the country illegally, any citizen may make a citizen's arrest on the offender and his accomplices, turning them over without delay to the nearest authorities. Only Mexicans by birth or naturalization and Mexican companies have the right to acquire ownership of lands, waters, and their appartenances, or to obtain concessions for the exploitation of mines or of waters. [1] Mexicans have priority over foreigners under equality of circumstances for all classes of concessions and for all employment, positions, or commissions of the Government in which the status of citizenship is not indispensable. Foreigners can serve in the military only during wartime.[2]"

They are people just like all of us. They work real hard and get dumped on.Does anyone deserve that? Can we give them a break, and stop being racist. Do you agree with the worker program?

She keeps threatening to send me back and says if she puts me up for adoption, the government will send me back to my dad and I have no say. I need to know if this is true. Oh God, I don't want to go. I have multiple friends who I've told about my problem but they don't know if she's telling the truth or lying. They've talked with their parents about adopting me and they're fine with it, but my mom knows going back home would make me the most miserable since I can't even speak my own language! Oh please God, help me! I don't want to go home and I don't want to stay with my mom.
Please, any help or advice would be appreciated.

The immigrant who is willing to work hard just to make their life better....or the Businesses that keep employing them "under the table" at below minimum wage?

And why is there so little talk on Yahoo answers about these Businesses that do this and are rarely prosecuted for it, and a lot of talk about the immigrants themselves?

I think Hazelton is on the right track and they are being sued because they want to keep the illegal immigrants out by imposing fines on businesses who employ them, and to landlords who rent to them. I know that they come here in search of a "better life", but I don't think that excuses the fact that they enter into our country illegally and leech off of our government, and take all the jobs for less pay. Other American citizens who engage in otherwise illegal behavior get punished...why are we PROTECTING these illegal immigrants????

The illegal immigrants are the ones building back all of the houses that were destroyed by Katrina. Illegal immigrants are the ones who went to clean out all of the nasty houses in New Orleans and other areas that nobody else wanted to clean because it smelled so bad. Illegal immigrants are the ones that make sure they work hard and fast to get it done on time, but also efficiently. My father hired white people to work on his house after Katrina. They have still not finished and Katrina was more than 1 year ago! Also, the work that they have done is poorly done. My husband whom is Mexican and his friends have already done several of houses! And they look GREAT! Anyway- what I am saying is that you anti- illegals need to open your eyes and start appreciating!
