I thank McCain for his military service, but on teaming with the psycho Kennedy for amnesty he has screwed himself. Not that I would have voted for him anyway. Go Hunter or Tancredo!!!!!!!!

Yeah.

Isn't it a damned shame?

I think Kennedy is following his consistant agenda. McCain is realizing people outright hate him in his party and that his chances of winning the Republican party are slim and none at this point. He is hoping a change in position will salvage his chances. He is wrong. I am not exactly sure why they think we are complete idiots, but he obviously does to a) think we won't know vote pandering when we see it and b) think we will think a 'touchback' to the other side of the border with a guaranteed return in any way changes the nature of amnesty. It isn't as if those actually required to go (only heads of family and only then if there are two adults) would be competing for reentry with equally qualified people from other countries who waited for the chance to do it legally, now is it?

The idiocy of the 'touch back' is underlined with the fact that those not from Mexico would still be going to Mexico (I take it they pre-cleared this with Calderon?) to 'touch back'.

McCain had to back out. He knew he didn't stand a chance in he11 at becoming Prez if he supports immigration reform.

I think that the people that keep electing them need to get a clue and find someone who will try to take care of their country and the people who elect them.
