Call the INS to make sure you do everything that is required, if anything is out of whack she could be denied entry, or held in detention until they get around to deporting her. It's better to get your info. from the INS just to be sure. Good luck.

When you say a public notary, are you speaking of a notorio in Mexico, or a US public notary who has no business doing anything except putting a stamp by your signature on a document and checking your ID to see if it is really you?

Because it is illegal for public notaries in the US to practice law because they aren't lawyers.

Since practice makes perfect, that doesn't mean this person does not know what they are talking about, but you have no reason whatsoever to think that this person DOES know what they are talking about.

Often immigrants who are used to going to notorios go to public notaries here because some are more than willing to let you think things are the same way here as in Mexico.

I suggest you go to uscis.gov and get something official.

Best of luck!

a letter of invitation simple states that you are inviting her to come visit or stay with you, and that you will be responsible for her expense so she won' become a ward of the state,
however, only about 5%of these applications are approved, you would be better off to apply for a educational visa, as they will approve them much faster and more readily, you can go on line and check them out and even down load the forms they will also give you a lot of information about how to do things or you can get a immigration lawyer, to help you and it is much better and more sure, but remember you or she will need to show where she will go to school and that you have one years tution and expense in the bank, good luck I hope this helps, go to u,s, immigration ,com and you will find every thing you need,
