It always surprises me when ignorance makes statements like
''In the past Britain has been made up of different Races'' why don't you pay attention to your own history? The Indigenous Britain is made up of European tribes that have made a claim on Britain, a piece of land that is part of Europe and has always been so. Celts from Germany, Romans Italy, Saxons from Germany, Gauls France, Danes Denmark, Vikings from Norway Sweden and Denmark and of course the Normans France. Now you know check me out; be heuristic and answer honestly rather than in ignorance. Britain was divided into Neutral countries at one time, Mercia, Kent, Wessex ect. They were all white Germanic people with the same beliefs and religious views.
If your brother moves to Scotland does he suddenly become a member of a different race, for gods sake talk sense.

As far as Multiculturalism is concerned I am afraid Mass immigration is now forcing ethnic cleansing on us. Considering that the white community is only 7% of the world population that can only mean one thing and that is extinction.
You are certainly not a racialist, but if you look at this site, many of the people answering actually want to see the demise of our kind. These people have a distinct dislike of their own people and are the real racialist, Norman Tebbit called this type of racialism 'REVERSE RACIALISM' you see them on every site of this forum. Reverse racialism is growing mainly against the BNP watch any question asssociated with BNP and UKIP and the revese racialist are there, the only difference on this site is that here we can all speak freely, the racialist I have previously mentioned would like is a complete close on this debate. I hope freedom of speech continues to win the day we cannot continue with mass immogration on the scale we have to day, The indigionous Britain has a 'right to exist'..

I guess only UK and United States are the only ones that worries about the multi racial society in their country (and you know why), basically cause you people doesn't want any foreigners in both places, have you ever travel to the countries that you people tend to minimize and categorize, don't you see that we always treat people fairly regardless if they come from the moon, we do not have the same problem, that you seems to have, Iam from dom, Republic, and back home, we do not have, the steriotype, that I'm going out with my black boyfriend, or that my white girlfriend is coming to dinner, we treat each other, just like each other, by the way I'm an inmigrant too.

I think our Multi-racial and multi coloured society represents some good things.

On the other hand the Multi-culturalism debate gives me more concern. I can understand about tolerance etc, but there can be no doubt that significant elements are using the ideals of multi-culturalism to create personal power bases that are aimed at destroying the idea of the UK and ''Britishness'' in its loosest and most tolerant sense.

In this format multi-culturalism serves to divide our people, designating and compartmentalising our people on grounds of colour and/or ethnicity.

I feel this started out of frustration by some that they were allowed 'in' only so far and no further.

simple e.g. We have a British Asian broadcasting network.
we don't have an Afro-Caribbean one, or a Polish one.

We call our many black sporting stars English/Scots/Welsh when they compete for their respective countries but when they leave the sporting arena they become British, this doesn't happen if you're white, even if your Gran/Grandad was not English etc.

It is time we got rid of tolerance and set about acceptance, we need to eliminate aspects of other cultures that are divisive of our people by ensuring that no matter your heritage you can choose to be English etc if you wish.

As a foreign student living in UK( student visa) since 2004, I have noticed a lot of things about Britain, considering I have never been here before. I knew Britain is a multi-racial/multi-cultural society but I was in fact surprised when I came here and I saw so many different races.

I I do not think it is "good" to have a multi-cultural country. If we are talking about multi-racial , then yes, I would have no problems in accepting a multi-racial country but the other term, multi-cultural, means that the other people's cultures are forcefully brought upon that particular country, in our case, a union of countries, UK, which is not good at all.
Let's talk about muslims, since they are a growing minority here. They are allowed to build mosques, yet you go to a muslim country and see if you are allowed to build a church, assuming you are Christian. I doubt it. With the increasing number of politically correct decisions it seems that , indeed, people here in UK are being let down by stupid lawmakers.

I don't think that you are racist for being curious. It is good to ask questions about race as we are all different, and to understand something you need to ask questions. Good on you!!

I think that Multi culturing is supposed to work i theory! We groups irrespective of race, colour and creed are supposed to help and contribute to Britain to make it a great nation, which in theory is a good idea. The problem is people seems to pick and choose what they want to accept and reject in society. For example the British love a curry, but think that every Asian is a terrorist. Black people are good performers and athletes, but must all be drug dealers. This is crap perception and is truly not fair.

If I had power I would focus on education. I let all schools take history lessons about Asian, African, European history and religion so that they could learn the perception of other cultures and it would help to increase tolerance.

I think a multi-racial society is a good thing. However, I do think the labour party and a succession of "ham fist-ed" home Secretaries have failed both the British public and the "real immigrants"...those genuinely wanting to contribute to the British economy and society.

If I were in power I would have a better system for dealing with applicants who genuinely want to come to Britain to work, improve their own quality of life and be an asset to British Society. likewise, those fleeing persecution, they need help too.

I would also have a system in place to deal swiftly with...those immigrants that only see Britain as a "soft touch", use it as a political platform to stir up hatred, constantly complain about the country, the people etc or and those that only want everyone else to see them as victims.

I dont agree with it because:

1)It only works if everyone subscribes to the same cultural standards, which isn't happening in the US.
2) Multi-ethnic populations are forced upon the original group rather than coming about naturally(in the US's case, whites were the original group, and integration and third-world immigration from the 1965 Act was forced upon them)
3)Ultimately, one group will wipe out the other groups and become dominant; it has happened throughout all of history
(if you're in the US and white, you should be worried about what is transpiring)

Living in a multi-racial country is fine, as long as the races that move here from other countries bring something with them, and I dont mean a dozen kids.

If other races are coming over here to improve their life with studying, or becoming a doctor here, or just contributing to society by having a job would be a good thing.

It just seems that at the moment our British Government is living in fear of being classed as racist, and giving all they can to immigrants coming over here, while the British people go without.

If I was in Power in the government then I would stop all these people being given free homes and benefits. Sure, they can come over here if they want to work and support themselves - why not? I sure as hell wouldnt be able to move to Australia and live on benefits so why should they come to England and do exactly that.

In fact, living in England, the white people are being made to feel outsiders. British schools are now teaching about Muslim and Hindu festivals to white children too, yet schools are banning Nativity Plays for fear of "offending" the other cultures. Excuse me? WTF? If you so badly want to live in our country - then respect our country and don't try to change it. I'm not offended by their religion so why the hell should they be offended by mine. If they dont like it, they can go home.

Multi-racial is fine, so long as they live by our laws and what the majority want, that's democracy, if on the other hand the majority are expected to change to accommodate the minority, then no I'm not in favour of it. And if the government wont stand up and make it clear that that is what is expected, then it will be down to the people of this country, and that's when you risk civil war.

people are people no matter what colour or from where, the whole world belongs to everything on it,not just humans, its only because we(humans)supposed to be an' intelligent race' seem to think its ours to do what we will, animals and plants and the like know what their role is,but humans are determined to destroy the world and its inhabitants, the whole human race is a disgrace, especially those in power all over the world!! we are all equal, where ever u live what ever colour, ect;but are not treated so
