I'm still amazed at all the immigrants that come to this country for a better life, but have no freaking desire to learn the language or assimilate into the lifestyle or culture. Now, Americans are expected to learn Spanish because all the Hispanics are coming here illegally/legally and want to stay, but don't want to learn the language. The Hispanics just want to take advantage of the system we have here, and basically make American learn their language and pay for all their illegitimate children. Hispanics gather in their communities and create little Mexico's everywhere. If you like it so much, "Go back!!" We're glad to see you and your language go.

We don't need Bilingual education in the schools. We need to teach the Hispanic kids that if they want to be educated here, they have to speak English.

Spanish is not acceptable! That's why America does not need Bilingual Education in any grade of public schools! OK?

"Anglo-Monolinguals! Like Lou!", huh? Really?

That would make people who only speak Spanish "Hispano-Monolinguals".

Hispano-Monolinguals GO HOME!!!

Bilingual education is another `politically correct" idea that is draining the education budgets, If you want to come and live here learn the official language. It is shameful when Americans get turned down for jobs because they can only speak their own language.

The governments (state and federal) have made provisions for Spanish; look at all the bilingual signs and such. This has not been done for any other language; make it equal for all groups! Personally, I took four years of it in grade school 15 years before we had immigrants to the area. phil, actually that trend is changing.

Spanglish- yea right. I speak fluent French so its called Frenlish. I don't think so. Why should my tax dollars be spent teaching illiterate illegals a language they NEVER USE- SO MY POINT IS WHEN IN THE GOOD OLD USA- SPEAK THE LANGUAGE-- ENGLISH.

We need to teach all students English in schools. Educating children in other languages will put them at a disadvantage since well paying jobs here typically require fluency in English.

All the earlier immigrant groups realized the importance og their children understanding and speaking English.
Why all the exceptions this time around?

Why not send them all back to Mexico to get educated? Why do we have to foot the bill? Make Mexico take care of the problems they generate.

I like being able to choose which second language I get to take. I chose French in high school and I want my children to be able to choose which language they learn. We do NOT need bilingual education. We already have overcrowded schools thanks to all these illegal morons. We don't need to lose any more money in our education system to tech illiterate people in their own language. Learn the language taught and there will be no problem.
