I can't help but to equate a guest worker program with slavery. Slavery ended a century ago. Since then coorporations have been searching for ways to find cheap labor. have they found it?

Who would you hire? A low cost guest worker or an American that wants a descent wage? Are you a patriot or a sellout?

The democrats want to start a guest worker program. Will most employers prefer cheap foreign labor over American labor? Will this result in a two class society with citizens at the top and guest workers at the bottom like ancient Rome?

I don't think anybody would have this excessive pity for white people, I think we would enforce our laws becuase nobody from Europe could cry racism and they would be made responsiblr for illegal action,,,poor or not

There are quite a few illegal immigrants from Poland,,but they weren't marching for immigrant rights, why do people always feel more sorry for dark skinned people,,,it's total BSwe are all equal we all have emoyions pains and fears,,,,

I got my denial of citizenship today because I failed to sign up for selective service between 18-26. I am 30 now. I came into this country with my mother at the age of 13. I am a legal citizen and I pretty much have all the rights as americans except I can't vote. I had no one to inform me or guide me as far as sign up for this and now I am denied citizenship because of it. I have a disability and I am collecting social security, should they have informed me of this or while I was in school, should they have informed me or what is the chain of command? They say they sent letters to my home and I failed to reply. I was living @ the same address until 2 yrs ago. I have registered cars, if they really needed to track me down, why werent't they able too? I just don't know what to do from here and what actions I should take, if anyone has ANY advice please help

I went on vacation to Mexico with my parents in November. We went to the Mayan Rivera near Cancun, and it wasn't poor and dirty like some people say. When my parents said we where going to Mexico, I was like OMG wtf are you crazy? But the hotel was actually really nice, and it was like 5 star, and it had fancy restaurants, and a huge pool and beautiful clean beach and tennis courts and stuff like that. And across the street from our resort hotel, there was big mansion neighborhoods with giant gates at the front with like guards and stuff. There was even like a little mall near us, and it had a Starbucks, McDonald's and lot's of designer stores.

I don't get why everyone says Mexico is so bad? It's actually very nice, and the people seem rich not poor.

have to look no farther than a mirror to see one

like Al Sharpton and
pro-illegals,,,,,,,please explain how pro-illegal is a logical stance if you are not racist yourself against white Americans

do tou think those people have a hatred fore white people,,,nahh couldn't be

why don't they fight for the plight of all immigrants not just latinos

this BS has got to be called out Don't you think that someone should be damn sure someone else is a racist before they accuse them of it, That term holds a lot of volume and shouldn't be abused

Are they so comfortable promoting nasty, belittling stereotypes of Americans: they are fat and lazy, have "attitudes," are "complacent," only wish to watch mind-numbing television, and their country would come to a dead stop without hard-working immigrants, presumably because their fat- and tv-addled brains are incapable of the kind of innovation that only immigrants can provide them. It is a wonder that such people managed to somehow build a country that many people want to immigrate to.

I also find it fascinating that the same people protesting for "solidarity" seem to have no sense of solidarity with American workers, and simply accept their bosses viewpoint that American workers are "lazy" and have "attitudes" when they reject poorly paid employment, complain about dangerous working conditions, or seek to organize on their jobs. What say you ?

At this point in the illegal immigration debate, racist means someone who wants the laws enforced. So please call me racist. Do you have any other arguments pro-illegals?

I feel in love two years ago with a man from Chile I was once the person that said all these illigals need to go back. that was until I met my boyfriend and have a lot of friends that are hispanics you will know me because you will look at a group of hispanics and only see one white chick Thats me!! anyway my point is I love all people and I do not have a problem with the illigals that are here working trying to make money for their families those are the ones that actually pay taxes. the ones that are coming over and having babies and trying get onto welfar are the ones who are making the other ones look bad. no one knows how hard any of these countries from latin America are stuggling to come here the righ way. Untied States is not allowing them to come. they haven't allowed them to come the right way. That is why so many of them are illigal here. I fell in love with a hispanic man and he was illigal here But I do not care because he worked, payed his taxes and sent money to his kids

I suffer w/bipolar disorder and a *few* other physical health problems. I've been in and out of the hospital many xs this year. Concequently I've not worked for about 9 mos. Often my basic fuctioning is affected by illiness. My bedroom is cluttered w/clothes, books, papers, etc. Sometimes moving around the room entails stepping over piles of clutter. OK granted. The problem I'm asking about? I sponsored my stepsons to come live here from a poor, African country 6 months ago. They are 22/19 and live w/their bio father and I, working part-time at McDonald's, for 3 months--their 1st jobs. Sometimes the oldest one makes ...comments about me and other Americans *casually and out of the blue*. He's said "You need job. Even if you just get small money, you should work. American women don't like work. Why?" or "Your room look like the US Reality Show. They have to come clean-up the person house for them. I guess that's how the American is--basically unclean." How wld U reply to these remarks?

were legal immigrants and US citizens. Why did immigration officers arrest them and throw them in jail? Because they looked Hispanic. Supposedly this was an operation to arrest people who stole identities. They arrested 1200 people and only charged about 100 with identity theft crimes. So that means that more than 90% of the people arrested were probably not stealing anyone's identity. Is this effective law enforcement? Anti's, what say you?

I think we should close off our borders with Mexico too. I mean we should have both things, borders closed and border fence. That's really going to stop illegal immigration!

Will we just move on? Since empires rise and fall EVERY SINGLE TIME.
After Mexicans take the Southwest, their people will probably revolt and take down the Mexican Empire too. And we'll always have a never ending series of empires.

When are we going to learn to just co-operate as a whole world?
Look at what is happening in Israel, they are still fighting over a stupid land!
Can't we all just adopt a universal language and become one country? Or is this world still full of hatred because of the history it has?

Do people even realize that there are very rich Mexican nationals-- lots of them? The 3rd richest man in the world is Mexican (Carlos "Slim" Helu)?

If Mexico’s rich were doing more to provide jobs for their fellow citizens, who could begrudge them their wealth? I wouldn’t.
Here is my American strategy. What if the U.S. got control of its borders, deported illegal aliens, refused to give amnesty, eliminated the Anchor Baby loophole, and expelled any Mexican diplomats who meddled in U.S. immigration policy?
What if we drastically reduced legal immigration, and made it clear by our policies that this era of mass immigration is over?
There would be a lot of shouting and whining. But in the end, Mexico would have to accept it. Then Mexicans would start paying more attention to their fellow citizens who are billionaires and millionaires. With the U.S. safety valve shut off, Mexico’s masses might start to pressure the government confiscate the wealth of Mexico’s rich…or just take
