They're always talking about "closing off the borders" If you guys close off your borders, LEGAL immigrants won't be passing to the United States. I agree that you guys should build a fence, but not close off the borders

Happy Holidays,
I'm a US citizen. My girlfriend is Italian, living in Spain, with an Italian passport. She came to USA three times this year: 1st time -2 weeks, 2nd-2 months, 3rd - 3months -- she's currently here (USA), having arrived Nov'06, leaving Jan'07. Upon arrival in Nov'06, immigration told her that when she goes to Spain in Jan'07, she won't be allowed to return to USA without some type of visa, ie., she can no longer enter USA using just her passport as previously done. Her and I want to spend more time together (preferably in USA) to see where our relationship is going. Neither of us know much about navigating immigration law, yet we're sure that many of you in the online community have been in similiar circumstances. As Jan'07 is fast approaching, we welcome your comments, experience and suggestions regarding this matter.
Thank you all.

What is the major barrier for illegals to come to the country legally? Why must they break the law to do it?

He was DIFFERENT than the other reindeers, they used to laugh and CALL HIM NAMES,and they never let POOR Rudolph, join in any reindeer games.{language barrier?} Then he gained SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT with a well known delivery service, doing a JOB NO OTHER REINDEERS WOULD DO.He also had no license and with a red nose ,was obviously above the legal limit in ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION.

I think they should. I think the test for citizenship should only be given in English. Look at southern Florida and southern California. If you go to many places in these areas you have to speak Spanish to function. These immigrants show no respect to the customs and history of those of us in the USA. If people of their country had done the work and made the sacrifices to make their country better in the past like Americans have then their country’s would not be such s**t holes. They now want to come here but want to keep their culture. Well, that culture has lead to their countries being such poverty and crime ridden places that they need to move. They should at least have enough respect for a superior people and culture to try to fit into our ways.

Hi, I have another question to continue from my last one. I was walking with my wife and these guys said to take my illegal butt back to Mexico but my wife can stay because she's hot. Why is there discrimination against male illegals?

First, no, I don't agree with immigrants being allowed to come into the UK, but, I was thinking about England's history. Well, we colonised America and made the African Americans slaves, we sent our prisoners to Australia and took land away from the aboriginies. Then there's the parts of the Caribbean, South Africa, Scotland, Ireland, the list goes on.

So, do you think what goes around comes around?

I have tried to find the answer to this question but having a hard time. Under normal circumstances a green card will expire 1 year outside the united states. But on Military orders there should be some type of waiver and I need to know what type of waiver or documentation she needs and how to get it. Also is there a fee accompanied with it or not.

A lady wrote the best letter in the Editorials in ages!! It explains
things better than all the baloney you hear on TV.
Recently large demonstrations have taken place across the country protesting the fact that Congress is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration. Certain people are angry that the US might protect its own borders, might make it harder to sneak into this country and, once here, to stay indefinitely.
Let me see if I correctly understand the thinking behind these
protests. Let's say I break into your house. Let's say that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave. But I say, "I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors; I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into your house). According to the protesters, not only must you let me stay, you must add me to your family's insurance plan, educate my kids, and provide other benefits to me

Economic immigrants from the old soviet states have flooded this country at an unprecedented rate in the last year. There has been lilttle uproar as they are generally immigrants in search of work and not to bleed the country of resources. However, with the next ex soviet satellite states ready to join the E.U should we be prepared for another wave of hard working folks or should we coil up the drawbridge and block economic immigrants and source jobs for our ageing population and also those facing redundancy when the multinational companies etc close down and move away?

I am a legal immigrant. I was naturalized almost 20 years ago. It wasn't easy and it required a lot of work. I'm not saying I should be applauded for my efforts but at the same time, why are so many Americans so willing to accompany illegals? They don't play by the same rules. Go ahead, learn spanish, give illegal immigrants healthcare, educate their families at no cost to them, heck let them get away with breaking the law. It is a slap in the face to all legal immigrants of the United States. I believe in a strong American workforce, it is the backbone of America. That backbone is getting weak. What do you think?
