These people told me to go back to my own country. Isn't it racist for them to assume that I am not an American just because I look Hispanic?

What, are you kidding me?

Maybe they shouted at you because your shirt claimed you were illegal.

Was this in Texas? If so, you are lucky you didn't get shot.

Let me get this right....you wear a shirt that says illegal and proud, and it had a Mexican flag on it....I don't think it was your looks that gave you away. You were just looking to start something. I still don't understand that if you are so darned proud of Mexico, why are you here?

No, it's not racist, but pretty dumb to insult Americans with pro-criminal slogans.

(PSssst! In The United States of America, it's considered inappropriate, illegal, and even frowned upon to support criminal behavior and activities. This is why it is best to follow through the steps in becoming a LEGAL US Citizen so you fully understand and appreciate what it means to be an American Citizen, and have some reasonable understanding of the law, language, customs, and courtesies.) I hope this answer helps!

You can't have it both ways!! You wear a shirt saying "Illegal and proud" but then you play the race card and say Americans judge you because you look Hispanic??

What did you expect when you wore that shirt - everyone to give you a High-five????

It was probably the shirt that said, " I am ILLEGAL AND PROUD."
Just a guess.

By doing that you are saying and challenging the American people, the hard-work, tax payer that you are here to deprive them from their livelyhood and expecting a good hospitality!.

No. Your T-shirt stated "Illegal & Proud". Since YOU are wearing the T-shirt, you are advertising that you are illegal and proud. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.

By the way. Go to Mexico, if you think so highly of it.
