No, I have never looked at it this way.I don't feel sorry for dark skinned people either. Any one who is an American citizen is free to stay here. If not go back to your own country. I never said anyone from England was welcome here, Poland either.
I think the Statue Of Liberty is a tired of Lady and this land has been built.

No I don't think anyone would care if the illegals were from Europe because they are white. You use the word pity I use the word HATRED that is what all the ruckus is about, now let us talk about where all that hatred has come from. Illegals have always been here working and no one has cared before because they have been invisible, on farms living in horrible conditions sometimes with no water or heat they didn't go crying to anyone they just stayed and did the job year after year in heat and cold that you or I wouldn't or couldn't stand for an hour they did twelve or fourteen hours a day. Nobody cared how many were here until their fifteen or twenty years of backbreaking work paid off, their years of doing without a lot of necessities trying to save every dollar they could. Now after all their sacrifice they can live in your neighborhood and that is when the hate started. These people marching in the street are people that have watched their parents and grandparents be mistreated their whole life, be afraid of the white man, say yes sir, no sir never getting any respect does it have a familiar ring to it history repeating itself. I think its the same thing all over again African Americans in the fifty's and sixty's were treated the same way as long as they stayed in their place the white man had no problem with them but when the seventy's came African Americans of that generation would have no part of being oppressed and they stood up and took what no one would give them their dignity so get ready for the rest of the 'dark skinned' people to stand up for their dignity. Sit back and hate these people because they are living like human beings if you want but at least get it right you and I didn't give them what they have they worked for it and maybe that's why you hate them so much because you didn't get off your bum and work for yours and it infuriates you to see them have what you don't.

There is a big difference here you are forgetting; Illegal European immigrants are usually more educated, don't wire money back to Europe, they usually speak English well, and don't stay as long. And although it is likely that European illegals are more tolerated for ethnic reasons, for the most part they reject living in the US because they are not tolerant of our culture (for good reasons), and go back after short stints. I would guess that most illegal Europeans who come here have only a few places they are happy settling down (e.g. San Francisco, NYC, Chicago, etc.).

There is petty racist energy flowing through this issue. And there are Americans who don't won't brown skin illegals "flooding" our streets. But this is nothing new; there was a time, not that long ago when the predominant immigrant was coming from Europe, and illegal or not they were treated much worse than Latin American illegals today. Back then if you were new in town (white or brown) you could be killed, left without work, starvation, etc.

This issue does have some racist over-tones, but it is more complex then that. There are many who are not racist, who want to stem the flow of illegals (of any color).

Some times it is easier to see those against illegals as racist, but I assure you there is much more to it. There are dark skinned Americans against illegal immigration as well.

In the UK we've just absorbed half a million Poles now that they are legal, we expect 1 million Romanians and Bulgarians to go w. the other million or so East Europeans we have had since last year. Plenty of people are complaining as much as you do about Mexicans/Blacks. Whatever colour you should try being poor and walking a mile in another man's shoes if you can't empathise. It's a small world w. a lot of people, it is not a simple matter and the equality ideal you refer to is legal rights equality under the law not we are all the same.

Not so much Europe, but white people in general. Notice how people in the US are looking down south and thinking about illegal immigrants coming to "their" land. However, a Canadian can simply walk to the US and who would complain? I think that racism and prejudices are a very important part of the "illegal" (I use the term loosely because laws only exist if people respect them) debate

The illegal immigration issue isn't a race issue. Its about the fact that they are here illegally. There are illegal immigrants from European countries in the United States (No, I'm not talking about the ancestors of the pilgrims). I'm talking about people who came here legally, let their visa expire and still continued to stay.

Spain and Portugal are European countries. Most of those marching for ILLEGAL immigrant rights (Who want the same rights as LEGAL immigrants; don't confuse the two groups.) are descended from Spanish and Portuguese immigrants. Latino and Hispanic are not considered a race. They are considered an ethnic minority. Most are racially classified as white. Therefore most of the race-baiting arguments are null.

England is having legal and illegal problems from European and non-European countries who are "white" for the same exact reasons we are having problems here. Color isn't the issue. I would be just as upset if they were German or Russian or French or Hungry or anywhere else. Fact ,still is as much as the Mexicans like to say it......they are NOT A RACE....they are caucasion just like me.....just a different shade or a blend with white blood cursing through their veins, as much as they hate the thought of that.......that's like saying the Irish are "racist" against the Polish. Or Chinese are "racist" against Koreans. Or Africian Americans are "racist" against the people from Somalia or Nigeria. It is not a RACE issue as much as they want to say that. I have met "black" Jamacians that are nothing like American "blacks". English "blacks" that are nothing like American "blacks". I've met wonderful "latino" people and one's not so nice. I've met wonderful "white" people and others I wouldn't give the time of day to. It's not "race".........like it or not, beleive it or not.......I don't care anymore. Mexicans MADE it an issue in order to ride on the "race" wagon with "blacks". Sorry but that boat don't float, and they have ruined it for the very people they say they are trying to help. Thank heavens I met alot of good Mexicans FIRST before these hate mongers arrived........

I don't care if they are from China, France, Poland or the North Pole (sorry Santa)..if they are illegal..they don't belong here..PERIOD if they can't do it legally.. If they are going to break the law by coming here legally, they are going to come here and break a bigger law like murder.. Do you think if we went into another country illegally they would let us get away with the crap that illegals get away with here in the US...I think not..we would be shot within 100 feet of crossing their border.

Look... I find it offensive that pro-Americans & pro-illegals alike, continue to play the race card... this has nothing @ all to do with race. I am a Black, middle class American citizen who is totally against "illegal" immigration. If Europe was right next door as Mexico is, I would feel exactly the same if Europeans came over & took advantage of Americas kindness. If Europeans were the mass majority that came over & had anchor babies just to get welfare & medical benefits, had taken jobs from American citizens due to accepting labor for low pay, etc... I would totally feel the same way about them. Have you ever looked at it this way????? Again... this has nothing at all to do with race!!! It has everything to do with Mexicans having easy access to our country & our government is doing nothing to enforce our laws to protect its own people!!! Get it right!
