Yes illegal immigration is the most offensive but our economy is not good for more than the bottom half of income earners! In fact less than 120 million citizens have any type of income! That leaves 180 million with NO income! I can assure you that out of that NO INCOME crowd many want & need to work or have income etc! DON"T be stupified with the boggist unemployment statitics for they only represent the few who are currently collecting benifits etc.

I travelled to Africa for my holidays and guess what? No-one was harsh towards me and my family. They welcomed us so well and we never encountered any form of racicm towards us. Why is it that people in Britain tend to be harsh on immigrants? Mind you some of them come here to visit not to stay here. Why don't we judge people by what we really know of them not of waht we suspect they are?I think we have become a cold nation. It's such a shame!

Hi,

I've applied for permanent residency in Canada using the family class. My wife is Canadian, I'm British, and I don't really expect any problems with receiving the permanent residency.

The question I have is this: I don't expect to receive my residency visa before I intend to travel to Canada. Given that I'm a British citizen, and can visit Canada for up to 6 months without a visa, do I need to do anything prior to heading to Canada (like get a temporary residents visa?).

I don't want to have any problems on arrival at Canadian immigration when they ask me how long I intend to stay in Canada, and I answer, indefinitely, dependent on my permanent residency visa coming through.

Suggestions, thoughts, advice appreciated.

Regards,
Karl

I was thinking...and I don't know all of the ins and outs of our legal system and what nots when it would come to thisl...just hypothetically....
We would agree to granting amnesty for all the current illegal immigrants and allow for their immediate family to come as well...
It would be manditory that they learn English as well as pay back taxes on all the income that they have earned since being here. I know right there is a hole since no one in their right mind is going to be honest about that. But anyway...
Prior to amnesty, all companies that have outsourced jobs to foreign countries will be require to bring those jobs back to the US.
Additionally all countries that we currently trade with would no longer be allowed to export more product than they allow the US to ship to them.

There....I think that would solve a lot of this.

Where I live the immigrants held a rally for their rights and planted a Mexican flag below our P.O.W./M.I.A.,American and California State Flags, while demonstrating in OUR Veterans Memorial Park. How can they expect us to not react with disdain? If you want citizenship, shouldn't you respect the country you are seeking it from?

Seems that the large influx of immigrants that live in sanctuary cities seem to do rather well and contribute to those local economies/societies. What can Southwestern states/localities learn from places that seem to have implemented effective social policy?
