Hi.

My dad is getting a American Student Visa for me.
And my dad is going to pay $40,000 for my college fee for 2 years.
1st. I want to know if I can get a house in US even though I have a student VISA? Because I don't want to stay in a dorm.
-Staying in a dorm school is okay or not? (I never been to a dorm before)
2nd. Is it nessesary to get a car in US - CA?
3rd. Will $1500 a month will do for my monthly allowance if ever I have my own house and car?

I don't think you can purchase a house on a student visa, but there wouldn't be any point in that anyways if you plan on returning to your country. Homes in California are VERY expensive.

Dorms aren't all that bad. You can meet people and make friends that you will never forget, and that can be a good thing because if you plan on staying on the U.S. as a resident and getting a job, knowing more people can open up more opportunities. But if you do want more privacy you could rent a small apartment for a good price.

As for a car, most universities have everything you need right on campus. Book stores, cafes, restaurants, shopping centers, and all that stuff. But if you want to travel outside of the university campus than a car may be a good thing, but most universities have access to public transpiration, especially in California.

$1500 a month is a little tight. It really can add up very fast. Food, clothes, bills can be expensive.

- Hope this helps :-)

I'm afraid I don't really know whether or not a student visa gives you the ability to purchase housing... but...

Depending on the college you choose, Dorms can actually be quite nice and are great ways to meet people within the us. But, if you do want a house, you must consider that the housing prices in CA are VERY high, at least for areas within large cities.

You will need to check with your college about the car issue. Some colleges do not allow their students to have cars at all for the first year, in which case it would clearly be pointless to get one. But in other cases you are allowed a car but would never need one because many large campuses have everything you could possibly need right on the grounds. Basically, it depends on your college.

And finally, the allowance, well... It would be plenty if it's just going towards food, clothes, and that sort of thing, but if you get your own house it would probably not even cover the monthly house payment and car payment. Not to mention electricity, plumbing, taxes, etc.

Sure you can! You can find a house to rent (not buy) and you can buy a car! I suggest you buy it cash from someone selling, rather than try to go through a dealership! $1500.00 for a decent house, minus your car savings and living expense does not leave you a whole lot ! Try finding a nice apartment. There are lots around! Good luck man , and I hope your stay is a pleasant one!
