Please understand that it's acceptable to enumerate negative accomplishments (e.g., failure to pass one bill or another) as well as accomplishments you view as positive.

Let's make this one fun - ok, kids?!?

I was wondering what's ethical or not in such situations. If you are the aunt/uncle/cousin/grandparent of a child, do you NOT have the right to help them stay out of harms way? Meaning you can't tell them to climb on the tv or bookshelf or run in the house or kick the cat, because you're not the kid's parents?

Or is it ok to warn them every now and then to make sure they don't get hurt? Do I make any sense?

What the f*ck was going through his head?

This happened in my community over a year ago and the person in question was found guilty last week.

He still denies the charges, even though forensic evidence proves his guilt.

What is the maximum sentence he will receive for a crime such as this in England?
(he is going to be sentenced next month)

Can an evil person such as him, ever be rehabilitated?
Should he be allowed back into society?

Thank you

I just finished AIT and was wondering what can I expect when I get into the "big army". What kind of lifestyle is it, how will I be treated as a new private. Some things I should know before I get there? I'll be an MP and going to Ft. Lewis, so was also wondering what chances I'll have as getting with a combat unit or will I be a post cop?

Like 5 million to hire a Hollywood movie set contractor to build a Japanese style bridge over a swimming pool made to look like a river in the Jordan desert.

Did we pay for that picture or did it come out of his pocket?

small or large problem that comes along?

Where did you get the idea that it is the governments role to come to your aid, hold your hand, give you money and make everything better for you?

I guess I'm trying to pick your mind. Why do you think government, whether it be federal, state or local, should rush to your assistance when things go wrong for you?

He was just a passenger. A passenger in a flight suit. I guess Karl Rove thought that idiots would assume that it was Hero-boy George at the controls. Well, he wasn't! Rove was right to assume people are idiots.

politics (n.)
1529, "science of government," from politic (adj.), modeled on Aristotle's ta politika "affairs of state," the name of his book on governing and governments, which was in Eng. 1450 as "Polettiques."
"Politicks is the science of good sense, applied to public affairs, and, as those are forever changing, what is wisdom to-day would be folly and perhaps, ruin to-morrow. Politicks is not a science so properly as a business. It cannot have fixed principles, from which a wise man would never swerve, unless the inconstancy of men's view of interest and the capriciousness of the tempers could be fixed." [Fisher Ames (1758–1808)]
Meaning "a person's political allegiances or opinions" is from 1769. Political animal transl. Gk. politikon zoon (Aristotle, Politics, I.ii.9) "an animal intended to live in a city; a social animal." Politically correct first attested 1970; abbreviation P.C. is from 1986.

Seriously.

Lethal injections are not humane. They can lead to slow and painful deaths.

The guillotine was invented to make a humane way to kill people. Trouble is, that sometimes, the blade wasn't sharpened enough, and wouldn't cut the head completely off, leading to pain, or if it cut the head off, it led to "living heads".

But what about the firing squad?

You're lined up against a wall, and shot. Dead, just like that. I think this should be done with a 20mm autocannon to ensure swift death.

Of course, I myself do not believe in the death penalty. Some 14% of those executed may be innocent in the US.

Your thoughts?

The issue of global warming seems far less scientific than political to conservatives.

It is rigidly predictable. - the more politically conservative a person is, the more fiercely they deny global warming.

Can anyone explain why?

If you read any of the factual books about Hillary ("The Truth About Hillary"), are old enough to have been aware of her mis-steps in the White House, have heard some of the stories about her... Or, ever considered what would happen if Bill is caught doing what he has been doing for the past twenty five years, and Hillary has a world changing decision to make at the same time? Why does she even have the opportunity, or want to run?
