If he had done something that warrants impeachment, then maybe. Even if he had, I understand that hissy fits (oops, petitions) don't have any bearing on the democrat-led congress, which is evidently hell bent on doing nothing about anything.

Bush has committed impeachable offenses if he is failing to represent the people. Ford made it very easy to impeach a president in theory, in practice its nearly impossible since it either has to be something expressly forbidden or has to come from a very large portion of the population.

I dont care for Bush, but as a realist I acknowledge that it is best for him to stay in office now.
Bush has his problems, but he is much more honest as a person than Cheney. Cheney has been operating in the shadows for years, and under Bush already had more influence and power than should have been allowed-more than any VP in history.
Despite his faults, Bush is at heart an honest person. He does generally try to do the right thing, it just turns out he's not always able-a lot of that probably comes from underhanded advisers using him for their own agenda.
Bush is running out of time and I have virtually no fear of him using some of his illegal Executive Orders to retain power-I have no such confidence in Cheney.

Were it ever put to popular vote I would vote in a second to keep Bush through the duration of his term.

No, impeaching Bush would be just as stupid and harmful to the country as when they impeached Clinton - what a waste of taxpayer money and international embarrassment that was - time Al Qaeda used very well to plot 911 too!!
No, just let the voters let their feelings known in the next election. I don't want to sink to their level ever.

no. Bush has done nothing to be impeached for under the Constitution. Unlike Clinton, who had an impeachment vote taken against him but who was not taken to trial by the Senate.

It is very difficult to impeach a sitting President and it is unlikely that the Congress would take up its time to do so given that Bush is a lame duck and will be out of office soon. And what the anti-Bush forces don't think of is that if you impeach Bush, then Chaney becomes President and those anti-Bush people would have him to deal with.

the anti-Bush forces have ranted and railed against him since before we invaded Iraq.

I am waiting for the time when the next President comes in and he or she has to deal with the Iraq and Afghanistan problem.

I suspect it will not be so easy to deal with the issue as it was to complain about it.

Since impeachment proceedings need to be instigated by Congress.....Why?

Can't impeach someone that has done nothing to be impeached for. You're leaders are liars.

is it bad that i hesitate in doing so, because i am afraid that this list is going to end up on the desk of the director of homeland security or the NSA?

i wonder if that feeling i just got was anything like the feeling people felt when considering the KGB or the Gestapo?

No. President Bush has not commited an impeachable offense. If he had don't you think Nancy Pelosi would be on CBS evening news with Katie Couric every night spouting off about it?

What, sign somethinjg I know is worthless? If I choose to be a whacko, I want to stand out and not join 999,999 others that screech for something that isn't possible over offenses that have not been committed.
