Let's say your at a debate for gun control, and you are asking questions that are supposed to make the other side sound bad (this is for school). I need to ask a question that makes having lenient gun control sound bad

ex: Guns kill thousands of people each year, how would making the gun control laws more lenient help this?

good of the collective? Honestly, it seems so odd that this is an issue in the USA...how much to let individual citizens keep of what they earn. Our citizens have access to education, there's every job under the sun here, the government does not dictate any specific direction. Just about anyone should be able to make a great life here, and not rely on the government to force people to contribute to their well-being.

Thanks in advance for answering THE QUESTION ;)

My fiance is 17, and just had a miscarrige with our first child. I am 19. While she was pregnant she was living with me with her mothers blessing. After she miscarried her mother and step father made her move back in. Now they are filing a restraining order against me, for nothing as far as I know. I have not hit her or threatened to hit her. I in no way am going to cause harm to her. I am not the reason for the miscarrige. I have NEVER done any harm to her. But they told me I am to never contact her again. So I have in essance two questions. 1.) If she contacts me, would I be allowed to speak to her, they said i am not allowed to contact her, but she can contact me, correct? 2.) Can I fight this since they have no basis to file an order? And if so how would I go about it?

During the second world war, the Nazis had a underground messerschidt Repair Factory. It could hold over 400 boxcars and had an underground railway running from Lundwigshoffen to its location. It had twoo elevators they brought the aircraft up with and then the aircraft would be towed or taxi up to the autobaun for take off and landing. The allies had a time figuring out where these aircraft were coming from.

Sometimes, I have this fantasy where I join the Special Forces, retire, and become a hidden warrior. I go around the world and secretly assassinate the world's biggest bad guys in an attempt to promote world peace. I dream of scuba diving into Cuba and sneaking into Castro's palace and killing him. Am I crazy or what?

The UK gets a lot of stick from former colonies who long ago got their independance, but still say the UK is responsible for their current troubles.

I was just wondering if anyone in the US thinks the UK (as the former colonial power) still owes them something.

Seriously, why do we always "boss" the whole world around all the time, like everytime a war breaks out in another country, we are the first country to get involved in it, why can't we just let another country live it's own life?, also why does NATO still exist even after the Soviet Union collapsed and the Cold War is over?, why do we have military bases and troops in almost every country in the world?, it seems like the United States is being exactly as the Soviet Union was when it comes to Foreign Affairs, we are always trying to promote Capitalist Revolutions world-wide, like we are trying to do with Iraq right now, trying to establish a Capitalist government but so far no luck. I just can't stand the ignorant, stubborn neo-conservatives who think that the United States should be the world government. Pretty much the United Nations is controlled by America, overall I think the United States is the United Nations, because all of their actions are influenced by the United States.

I support the troops 110% but the war and its cause 0. i am having second guesses about going into the reserves. I would love to still become a Marine reservist in 2 years once i get my BA in Bus. Finance. That way i could start my career and still serve my country like I always dreamed about. I could also start off at E-4. I just do not support the war at this moment. This isnt so much a question just wondering what your opinions are. Thank you!

luckily for me, i don't smoke cigs, weed, OR drink alcohol, but i was wondering this today after i heard two people next to me talking about it on the subway.
you can legally smoke cigs that cause CANCER at age 18.
you can legally drink alcohol at age 21.
you can never legally smoke weed.

the only reason weed is illegal is because of the fact it "messes with your brain/decisions" right? but from what i have heard weed just makes you calm down and laugh.

alcohol makes you to the point where you cant walk sometimes, DEFF. not drive, and sometimes get abusive. now a little alcohol is okay, but too much can lead to death wether you drive, or get toxic overdose.

has anyone died of weed? i don't think so.

what is everyone's opinion on this?

i don't do any, but these are good questions and points, eh?

I decided to look further into Obama's background. His full name--as by now you have probably heard--is Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. Hussein is a Muslim name, which comes from the name of Ali's son--Hussein Ibn Ali. And Obama is named after his late Kenyan father, the late Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., apparently a Muslim.

And while Obama may not identify as a Muslim, that's not how the Arab and Muslim Streets see it. In Arab culture and under Islamic law, if your father is a Muslim, so are you. And once a Muslim, always a Muslim. You cannot go back. In Islamic eyes, Obama is certainly a Muslim. He may think he's a Christian, but they do not.

So, even if he identifies strongly as a Christian, and even if he despised the behavior of his father (as Obama said on Oprah); is a man who Muslims think is a Muslim, who feels some sort of psychological need to prove himself to his absent Muslim father, and who is now moving in the direction of his father's heritage, a man we want as President when we are fighting the war of our lives against Islam? Where will his loyalties be?

Is that even the man we'd want to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency, if Hillary Clinton offers him the Vice Presidential candidacy on her ticket (which he certainly wouldn't turn down)?

NO WAY, JOSE . . . Or, is that, HUSSEIN?

I have good reason to beleive I just narrowly escaped a really bad situation. Although nervous as all get up I managed to get this creep, after many efforts, out of my house and then off my property. Keep in mind this guy I have met in the past and always thought him just a nice guy. But tonight all kinds of flags went up, and I was afraid how to handle the situation because I was alone with no one near by. This guy is suppose to deliver my meds as I am a cancer patient to boot. I am calling the pharmacy, but am getting the impression they aren't going to care even though he put his hands on me and appeared high. Eyes dialated, not his usual well groomed self, etc. Are there any suggestions of what I should do beyond going to his employers?? He tried my door and I'm sure of it. I'm really nervous and it's hard to type due to tears. That's how much he scared me. Police say that if he didn't commit an actual crime they can't do anything until he does. I'm open to suggestions

I am serving in the Air Force right now and I love it. I'll proably stay in until I retire (in the reserves).

However, I notice that people tend to think of serving in the military as "serving your country." Going to war is "serving your country." Going to basic is "serving your country." He was killed while "serving his country."

That's fine, but aren't civilians "serving their country" too? Isn't a doctor treating patients serving his country? Isn't a honest businessman who helps out the economy serving his country? Isn't a firefighter or police officer serving his country? Isn't a teacher serving his country?

The point is: I really don't think you have to join the military to serve your country. As long as you are an honest, hard worker, I do not think you are serving your country any less than soliders, airmen, sailors, marines, and coast-guardsmen.

NASA has now silently released corrected figures, and the changes are truly astounding. The warmest year on record is now 1934. 1998 (long trumpeted by the media as record-breaking) moves to second place. 1921 takes third. In fact, 5 of the 10 warmest years on record now all occur before World War II.
