I can't help but get annoyed everytime I see a commercial that uses that propoganda "be all that you can be" to appeal to young folks. The line tries to appeal to someone's selfishness.

Do you think that slogan (be all that you can be) is an appropiate slogan for the army? or is it just a form of propganda to get a selfish, self-centered teenager to sign up for a job that's inhernetly self-sacrificial? Should the US army find a new slogan?

How many more of our soldiers have to die at the hands of Islams before people stop glorifying their actions by calling them "insurgents", etc. instead of acknowledging that they're terrorists and not scapegoats, underrogs, heros, etc.?

Unlikely, but very funny. Also if Romney, Huckabee and Guiliani aren't picked.

In Texas you receive a speeding ticket, appear before the judge as required, but fail to pay the fine? (Failure to pay as a result of lack of funds, but no contact was ever made with the judge afterwards to inform them.) What happens if I get pulled over in another city/county/state? Any suggestions from law enforcement personnell?

Whether your on the left and agree that Big Business could profit from international cooperation, or your on the right and say social values can be reinforced from support abroad, can we all agree that the GOP would benefit substantially from an International Conservative Party? Social Conservatives worldwide believe in religious freedom (as well as integrity), human rights preservation, independence from the "nanny" state, developed (albeit not necessarily free) international trade, and secured family values. Big business would love the chance to get involved in overseas markets previously deemed unaccessible due to fears of sovereignty loss, irrational economic planning, and countless trade restrictions.

On the flip side, how could a worldwide liberal movement workout? Imagine Labour working with the Democrats....

Then and again, maybe not. They're both an internal mess by themselves as it is.

Conservatives in the US like to make all sorts of outlandish claims about Canadians "sneaking across the border" to have operations performed in the US. I've lived in countries with national health care in the past, and never have I seen anyone call for a repeal of public care or an attempt at privitization.
Tell me what you think of the single payer system in Canada, and if there are any efforts to bring in private companies up there.

I was at a party last night in Alabama and the cops came in the room I was in and I was sitting on the bed with other people who had marijuana in their possession and a pipe. I didn't have anything in my hands or in my possession. But the cops asked who it was and no one answered. Since I was sitting on the same bed as the others, I was arrested. They said something like "guilty by association". I was charged with possession of mari. in 2nd degree.. the other that had marijuana on them got the SAME charge?! That's so unfair. Plus the cops never read any of us our rights. What can I do to get this thrown out?

Every other westernized country seems to see the handwriting on the wall when it comes to no brainers like this. You can throw capital punishment in there too btw.

I have a friend whose brother died in a military hospital in Germany. He was involved in an automobile accident. The death resulted from complications related to an infection in his leg. They amputated the wrong leg and it killed him. The doctors were negligent in their treatment. This was the explanation given to the his mom. by the base commander. She has contacted VA, base legal and numerous patient advocates with the hopes of persuing legal action.Under the Tort Claims Act of 1946, commonly known as the Feres law or the Feres doctrine, prohibits any private parties from suing the U.S. government for any torts committed by any person acting on behalf of the government. This law is to prevent people for suing from injury and death in combat. An admitted act of negligence is also protected. Is there any recourse the family may take against the government aside from negative publicity?

why did Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld claim that Iraq still had Weapons of Mass Destruction even after the UN Weapon Inspectors went into Iraq and didn't find any?, and yet we still haven't found any Weapons of Mass Destruction?, it's so stupid. Now that Rumsfeld is gone, why do Bush and Cheney still say there was a link between Saddam Hussein and 9/11 even after the CIA says there was no link?, why don't they just admit that the Iraq War was a Mistake and pull the damn troops out already!!!!, I can't stand the ignorant, stubborn Republicans who agree with all of Bush and Cheney's lies, and whats more surprising is that after the first Iraq War in 1991, Dick Cheney was against going into Iraq to try and remove Saddam Hussein from power, which he realized would have disastrous consequences, and he was right because we are dealing with them now, what made him change his mind?, what role does Oil play in this war?, why is Bush obsessed with it?

the fact is that anyone who is uneducated, under educated, grew up during the civil rights era, and/or is African American, the way many of Oprah's viewers are, will be more influenced by Oprah's endorsement than they are by that of any other celebrity. I can't speak for Oprah, but she is obviously having a profound impact on uneducated voters who will choose to side with Obama based primarily on her influence, and she may even be TRYING to (illegally) sway voters who don't know any better. Is there a way this could possibly be brought to the attention of legal analysts who have the power to handle such issues, or that it could at least be investigated? How? Has anything even been said/done about the fact that Oprah in particular could be (illegally) swaying voters in her largely ill-informed viewing audience?

not a single scientist that i've heard of believes it's not even a possibility. i've heard scientists (like gray) put up alternative explanations for the warming, but none of the alternative explanations have much (sometimes none at all) experimental data to back them up.

unless there's another variable at play (unlikely), or the data has been manipulated (even more unlikely), the only possible explanation for the warming (five times what it would have been, using only 'natural factors') over the past century is the increase in co2 due to human industrialization.
