on a scale of zero to ten. zero being definitely not real, ten being definitely real.

not a single scientist that i've heard of believes it's not even a possibility. i've heard scientists (like gray) put up alternative explanations for the warming, but none of the alternative explanations have much (sometimes none at all) experimental data to back them up.

unless there's another variable at play (unlikely), or the data has been manipulated (even more unlikely), the only possible explanation for the warming (five times what it would have been, using only 'natural factors') over the past century is the increase in co2 due to human industrialization.

Fraginal: erroneous statement. the consensus is that it's real. no amount of brainwashing, no amount of repeating the same lie will change that fact

Manmade global warming is just a ploy by politicians, activists and others to profit financially and gain political power. 30 years ago the same "experts" were crowing about the impending new ice age. When people try to scare you, especially that the "end" is near put on your B S waders.

Global warming? Real. The reason the globe is warming is a whole different question. Because of man? That gets a 1 or 2 on your scale. The globe has warmed and cooled repeatedly over the centuries as it will continue to do until it decides to explode or gets hit by a huge comet or whatever ends up causing the end of the earth. Man's contribution to global warming has been and will continue to be insignificant.

I'm not a conservative, but I agree with scientists that the likelihood of humans being the primary cause of the current global warming is greater than 9 (the IPCC puts it at 90+% likelihood).

I'm sorry, but if you look at the data it simply doesn't support your conclusion. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, temperatures were warmer on average from 1895 to 1940 than they are today. The steepest warming trend is from 1910 to 1935 which was before significant use of fossil fuels.

Then the US cooled off for three and a half decades which is what spawned the "global cooling" nonsense touted during that time period. This by the way, was the period of greatest growth in fossil fuel consumption.

The rate of warming from 1910 to 1934 which was a period of limited fossil fuel consumption was steeper than the rate of the warming trend from 1975 to 1998 (which was a period of significant fossil fuel consumption).

Well i thought the warmest year on record, was in 1998, so doesn't that mean the temperature is now going back down ??

So wouldn't that mean we have global cooling ?
