The UK gets a lot of stick from former colonies who long ago got their independance, but still say the UK is responsible for their current troubles.
I was just wondering if anyone in the US thinks the UK (as the former colonial power) still owes them something.

Nope we dont really expect anything from you for the reason that we were originally a colony of ya. although u should be careful using the word master because well we spanked you in one war saved you in another and unfortunatly kinda dragged you in to a current one. But no ya dont owe us anyting although i do like your pastries a little dry but still tasty so ship some of those please

Nope.
Under the old empire , Great Britain may not have been completely, well....nice to the colonies, but..........
As far as the US goes there was never the complete domination that there was elsewhere.
Consider this, when the colonies gained independence, the British left behind, rule of law, self determination, & a population that would have been worse off without British rule & protection.
The complainers should think what it would have been like if
they were under, say , Spanish rule w/ their feed em beans & f..k em policy.
Some mentioned WWll but, that was a "real" war with good guys & bad guys.
If the allies had not won there would be a lot of europe speaking German , but as far as any debt ?,the payoff was
"winning".

properly the US and uk are superpowers and the united kingdom as quickly as had the worlds best empire and interior the midsection east the united kingdom gave the Jewish land interior the midsection east modern-day-day Israel and the Palestinian (some) countries or persons observed this as stealing thier land i comprehend this might properly be a comfortable subject matter so something I even have typed isn't meant to be racist or offensive to everybody and that i appologise if it does. playstation : if u mean the 9/11 assaults it improve into because of the fact people troops stationed on Arabic borders and Arabic land

You said the KEY word ....MASTERS.. The British were the MASTERS of an empire which no longer exists. USA is trying to be Masters of the current Empiire. No Man Should Be His Brothers Master.. KTnTexas

after we won in 1812 the USA was bankrupt and we allowed them to trade with Europe so they Owe us
WW2 we were safe in 1940 and allowed the USA to use the UK as a base to Invade Europe and we never charged them for anything unlike the USA who put Hitler in Power causing WW2 then forced the allies to pay for it

The UK does OWE the US. But not for anything related to the former colonial state.
How about for the fact they are not flying a swastika over parliament.
And while we are at it, most of Europe owes us something for that as well. Not money or things, but at least a benefit of the doubt when it comes to what we want to do around the world.

No. That is so long ago. In fact I think the UK and the USA are the two greatest nations on earth. We are both dedicated to freedom home and abroad. We have depended on eachother many times of both war and Peace. I think it is awesome that we get along so well.
