i am not sure , but I am told they are building lots of new ones. the need for prisons is expected to grow fast. the theory is that as economy suffers and Americans are thrown out of homes through foreclosures and cars are repossessed and jobs are lost that people will resort to crime to maintain their standard of living. 25 percent / one out of four americans works in a security /law sort of field. the article was written in msnbc i think. a money investing column guy . it gave 4 stock picks for security firms that are growing / thought to be possible good investments. i think that one of the new prisons is in AZ , it is to handle overflow from CA.
