A young woman wrote poems praising Muslim Terrorists. Most of us wouldn't agree with the sentiments expressed but isn't this really a conviction for 'thought crime'?
Where's George Orwell when we need him?

A lot of Democrats have said that the surge is working but most haven't changed their position on the war. However, candidates like Sen. Clinton, Sen Edwards or Gov. Richardson basically disapprove of the war because of their political agenda.

So would candidates like these people change their position on the war if most of the general public supported the war?

I personally believe that the people of today's young generation are not mature enough to drink responsibly. I know that many people are, but majority rules, and most are not.

I can think of 8 different occasions (locally) where people have been killed by drunk driving in the past year. In 6 of those cases the drunk driver was between the ages of 20 and 24. The other two were teenagers.
The alcohol the ones who were under 21 were bought by someone between 21 and 25.
Apparently, the majority of people this age are not responisible enough to have this privelege.

I believe the drinking age should be raised to 25. (I am 23 and couldn't care less if it did.)

WHAT DO YOU THINK??????

Or will he struggle on trying to convince America that Iran is out to get us.
The ad portrays the Iran-Contra hostage crisis that happened years ago under the Carter administration and which has been falsely credited to Reagan for freeing the hostages. He goes on and on about the threat of an attack from Iran and he will keep America safe.

The federal gov't (you and me as taxpayers) appears ready to bail out Floating Rate Loan holders, and possibly the mortgage industry. Are you OK with this?

Here's my scenario, hopefully this will help explain more fully :

Back in 2002 chose higher pmt, fixed rate mortgage. I did my homework. I looked at the economic and financial risks. I have a 30 year fixed rate mortgage at 5.125%. I only put 5% down. APR rate loans at the time were 1 - 2% cheaper. Hind-sight is 20/20, but I chose a safer bet.

If a business takes more risk, by lending to high risk borrowers, or if an individual takes on too much debt, should the Taxpayers (the rest of us) bail them out?

By bailing out entire industries and thousands of risky bowers, are we not encouraging the poor behavior? Are we not enabling ignorance?

What are your thoughts?

As a student you are interested in increasing the amount of federal financial aid to all college students. How would you hope to influence the actions of Congress and the Executive branch to change federal financial aid policy and funding? What are the various mechanisms by which you might make your views known? In other words, in what ways do citizens influence the political process? Which mechanism would be most effective? Why? What does your answer say about the ability of citizens to initiate change in America's democracy?

I recently got a speeding ticket by a local cop. He said I was doing 51 mph in a 35 mile zone. I know I wasn't going that fast. The road was very curvy and hilly. I didn't see him, but my husband did. When he told me there was a cop, I looked at my speedometer. I was going 40. This cop was using VASCAR, where he measures the time it takes to go between two white lines on the road. He was parked in a driveway between two parked cars. My husband saw the light sticking out above the one parked car. I believe there was no way that he could have clearly seen the lines on the road. I asked him to show me proof that I was speeding and he told me if I wanted proof, I would have to fight the ticket, which I did. In court, this officer swore under oath that we was pulled out far enough from the parked cars to see the lines. This is absolutely not the truth. He lied under oath. When I wanted my husband to testify. The district justice would not let him. I feel violated. HELP!!
