Lower taxes. So why are so many
Americans still in debt. Or making
$2000 less than they did, 7 years
ago. Too many holes in you guys
statements. But I appreciate the
great response. After all, it is just
an opinion...... Not a fact. Because
if it was, then it would be a much
better situation on "all" levels, for
many hard working Americans.
Period.

Absolutely.

Look at how much has been covered up about FDR and how he basically broke every part of the constitution to get the U.S. out of its worst economic time. FDR even tried to overthrow a branch of the government when he want to take over the Supreme Court.

Bush is supposedly an awful person for what? For going after terrorism? Clinton tried the deplomacy approach and it got us attacked 5 times by Al Qaeda during his presidency. During Bush's administration we have only been attacked once, and never again.

Illegal immigration I dont agree too many politicians on this, including Bush, since they seem to be bucking Americans feelings and they for some reason support amnesty.

The economy has been thriving despite the war going on and that has not been the historical picture of a wartime economy. Normally there is a recession during a war and after the war you see the boom. I dont agree with how Bush is wanting to deal with the current housing crisis because I am not a socialist and he is wanting to save all these people who knowingly got in over there heads. Then again, if the Democrats can get away with saying they were lied to when they had access to every govt report, why can't consumers say they were lied to?

There are many issues to cover but these are the biggest right now. Overall I support Bush; however, as with anyone total agreement is not there.

The supporters of Bush seem to be the troops that have deployed, former troops, and very conservative people. I just answered another question on here from a democrat that seems to sum up their view of the world. She wanted to know where she could find information out about the candidates... however she only wanted Democrats to answer. Sorry to say but as a Republican I can tell her where to go just as much as a Democrat. I politely gave her a website from USA Today and nothing else. This is important because it shows that Democrats DONT WANT TO KNOW the other side of the story (because it might affect their belief). I applaud those Democrats who try to find out about the other side because it gives more logos to their arguments agaisnt Bush.

Afterall, he isn't a monkey as one MSNBC reporter called him recently on national television.

Then again, dont take my one example as proof, just read the non-supporters and their hatred in the responses to your question. If that doesn't tell you how ignorant their views are and how unprepared they are for a true debate on how good of a president Bush has been, nothing will.

sangira- Sorry to bring up Clinton but MUST face the consequences of the situation he put this country into. If you think he has no blame in 9/11 you need to really, REALLY re-think some things. Clinton unfortunately will be in every Bush debate. Heck, he even aligned himself with Bush after Bush was elected. I never brought up any of the issues Clinton did unrelated to the GWOT, so yes, his name does belong and gives weight to what President Bush has accomplished.

I think, like most people, I support ideas and actions more than the man or woman behind them. For example, if I agree with something the president does, I 'support him'. If I don't, I don't. I feel pretty certain that most folks are like this. But it's easy to confuse a persons support of one issue as being universal to all of the president's actions.

That being said, and in support of this, while I don't support everything the president has done, I support more of what he has done than I do what any of the initiatives that democrats have proposed. And that's where the rubber meets the road. I can support some or nothing. I choose the guy who at least gives me some of what I believe the country needs. I haven't seen the democrat yet that can do that.

So be thankful for small blessings. Kerry could be President.

I basically support any president of the United States. But this is a tough question, because it's not that black and white. I support some of his policies and disapprove a lot of his.

Every president has something that someone likes and every president has something someone dislikes.

With Pres. Bush I'm 50/50. To someone said he lowered taxes: the top 1% pay 40% of the country's taxes.

Good answer Daniel!

I support President Bush, he is very similar to President Lincoln. They are both Republicans, Lincoln presided over an unpopular war, Lincoln took austere measures with individual liberties to prosecute the war, Lincoln stayed the course when the Democrats opposed further war, Lincoln was lampooned in the press as an ape (they didn't call them chimps then), Lincoln was considered too stupid and simple and not eloquent enough to be the president, Lincoln brought a backwards medieval culture into modernity, just like President Bush is doing today. The legacy of a person is for the future to decide, not the present.

Yes, I am.

I do not agree with most of his policy, but it's kind of like a dysfunctional family. We can disagree, even argue, but we are still family. That's the way I feel about my country and my president; aka Commander in Chief.

IMHO, he has dropped the ball on many things and stood strong on others. With that in mind, he is pretty much the same as so many others before him including Democrats.

EDIT:
It is INDEED a FACT that Bush lowered taxes. If he didn't, then what was that Hillary said she was going to roll back? An opinion about lower taxes? The Dems want to let the tax cuts expire dude, they're real!

People's personal debt is not a function of government.

Why would I support a vindictive person who spends so much time and money sending federal agents to spy on peace groups in Georgia (reported in the Atlanta Journal and Constitution), yet at the same time refused to use the National Guard (except to the bare minimum) to help Katrina victims?

How can I support GW when he somehow convinced soldiers that they would be getting a small raise (of course during the time of re-election), while at the same time tried to sneak a military pay cut past congress?? He supports torturing "detainees" for goodness sake! Many of them have done nothing and some have now been proven innocent! Do you think that ANY Americans who fall into foreign hands will get humane treatment now??

Many people have come to me in tears that I have spoken in front of, about the treatment of our troops during this administration. They have apologized to me because they did not believe me until the inhumane treatment happened to them or their military family member. By then it was too late; they'd already voted him back into office.

Yeah I support his first day out of office. That would be 01-20-2009. I hope I live to see that day. The man and the Supreme Couret stole the election by ending a recount in Florida. It will be interesting to see how the Florida vote goes this election.
After his out right lies to the people. Remember Colin Powell?
And Governor Christie Todd Whitman. How they were ignored by Cheney who is really running it. While this poor excuse struts around arrogantly as president.
All the Feds have to do is call one a terrorist and the Constitution is used as kindling.

STILL a Bush supporter?? Never was. Why would I support someone who knowingly sends medically unfit soldiers into battle, then denies them treatment? I have a personal letter from the White House basically telling me "don't call us, we'll call you" about my medically unfit daughter when she was in Baghdad. Only prayer brought her home, and kept her from causing harm to another soldier by mistake.

Why would I support a vindictive person who spends so much time and money sending federal agents to spy on peace groups in Georgia (reported in the Atlanta Journal and Constitution), yet at the same time refused to use the National Guard (except to the bare minimum) to help Katrina victims?

They have apologized to me because they did not believe me until the inhumane treatment happened to them or their military family member. I've got two hundred more reasons why I do not support this person, and some of them are very personal. The general public has no idea how evil this administration is. It makes me cry sometimes; the amount of innocent faith that some soldiers have in him. He and his cronies have even managed to convince a large number of soldiers that WE, the members of groups listed below and others who work with us, WE don't support the troops!!! My answer to that (since I don't use profanity) is... and you DO??? We are the troops, and the troops families! How do they get away with that kind of rhetoric? Oh of course... because they are evil.

How many other countries do you think would try to get a wounded soldier to pay bonus pay back to the government?? How many returning soldiers become homeless before they get financial help?? These are things, among hundreds of other injustices to our soldiers, that our peace groups (who don't support the troops) are helping to change. Many of us do it with very little sleep at times, and even less money.

Believe me, Bush and co. would do anything to get rid of our groups: Iraq Veterans Against the War, Military Families Speak Out, Georgia Peace and Justice Coalition, Veterans for Peace, and many others. Good riddance to him when he's out of office. Anyone would make a better president!

PS-- God bless all you guys but for the 10,000th time, the Iraq war has nothing to do with 911. It's just another lie fabricated by the Bush administration. Even the right wing media outlets acknowledge this now. The Iraq war only served to reverse the progress made in the Afghanistan war. And if you say that Saddam had to be removed from power, what would you say if I tell you that a small group of Iraqi dissidents offered to do it for us, all they needed from us was financial support? I truly believe that if we had taken that route, a lot of my friends' children, husbands, and daughter would be alive today, and America would be a much more respected and revered country.

Just think... all this unnecessary pain because GW wanted to be a celebrated "war president" (among other sick reasons). Makes me nauseous.

People see what they want to see. I personally never was a Bush fan, and I focus on all the many, many negative things he's brought to this country. Supporters focus on the positive things that happened during his reign of terror. All presidents have their good and bad points - his bad points just massively outweigh the good aspects. Lucky for the US and the world he's out in 2008!

All Americans should be Bush supporters. After all, he's our president, he was elected by a vote of the people, and he represents us to the world. The more we support our leaders, the stronger they are, and the stronger our country is.

And the world needs a strong America.
