Ok here's another dumb question of mine that will annoy people but then I am a british citizen so be nice. . .
I thought that Hilary and Obama were campaigning for presidency from different parties i.e republican and democrat, but they are both democrat, are they not? So what is it they are campaigning against each other for? Are they fighting for leadership of the democrat party? I'm so dumb I really need to educate myself on basic things like this but the internet hasn't been that helpful, will someone explain?

Will the two strengthen their alliance or go their separate ways (in which case, would the RI start a viable third party?)

Is there a good explanation for this? Example in LA where I live very few people support Bush, and the Republican party, there are a few people out there, in fact many people will think you are worthless and wont talk to you if you think anything good about GWB. But in the country, small towns, its completely different, alot of people love GWB, and have conservative values, and they seem to enjoy making jokes about liberals. I could go on about the differences, but I think you get my point. Why exactly is this the situation, I dont think its money, becuase I think people in the city have more money than people who live in the country.

In my state, if someone murders a child or a grandmother, they get life in prison. If you murder a cop, you get the death penalty.

Last night, my girlfriend (I'm gay) was charged with Menacing, Obstruction of Telephone Service, Assault 3rd Degree, Possession of Illegal Weapon, and Criminal Mischeif. She is not eligible for bail. This was domestic violence. I could understand why they wouldn't want us to have contact if she was out on jail, but why can't I visit her in jail or talk to her on the phone? These are supervised places where she can't hurt me.
She's never done anything like this and we live together. I love her, I don't know if I'd go back to her though, but I just need to talk to her about what happened. I need to ask her why she did what she did. Is there anything I can do?

QUOTE - "Prime Minister Gordon Brown has treated the armed services with "contempt" and "disinterest", a former chief of the defence staff has told a Lords debate. Admiral Lord Boyce said the decision to give one person - Des Browne - the jobs of both defence and Scottish secretary was an "insult" at a time of war. Another former defence chief, General Lord Guthrie, said Mr Brown had been "unsympathetic" to the military. .."

Will you be voting for Gordon Brown to remain as Prime Minister after next General Election - where the PUBLIC CHOOSE?

What is the difference between blackwater and the Nazi brown shirts ?

Both are/were para military forces - both in their early stages killed citezen's - Right now Iraqi's - which the government seems to want to stop or interfere with investigations

Now the US wants to use a para military on US soil - should an emergency occur

Blackwater has recieved a few billion in funding to expand operations within the US

So tell me what is the diference between Hitlers brown shirts in the early days when Germany was an open society a demorcacy one with minority rights activists and so on

And Blackwater a "private security" team that amounts to no more than a para military outfit operating outside the normal laws of the US military answerable in the end to it's share holders and clients - Their clients being a select group of politicans who dole out the money

We all know that guns kill people, that government is our protector, and that there is no reason to desire to own a firearm in our modern world.

Why wait until the next president is elected, to do what we all know is best?

Those who are law abiding will surrender their weapons.

The others are lawbreakers, and should be eliminated.

Isn't it time we all became peaceful and trusting?

Why is the Old-West mentality tolerated? The police should plan sweeps and rid our nation of guns, once and for all.

Our local police departments have all the power and resources to do any "defending" that may ever become necessary. It's not like it was in the 1770's when the Bill of Rights was written.

Isn't it time we threw the "beliefs" of the older generation aside, and entered a new world of love and harmony? One free of guns and violence?

serious replies appreciated
