I read an article by a Democrat, who suggested taxing coal plants so that running them would be more trouble than it's worth. I talked to my Republican Dad, who said we should offer tax deductions to atomic plants. I'm not quite sure what I think. What do you?

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney, who has a history of heart problems, was treated with an electric shock for an irregular heartbeat discovered during a doctor's visit on Monday, his office said.

Cheney, 66, one of President George W. Bush's closest advisers, returned home from the hospital after the procedure, which required sedation, and will resume his normal schedule at the White House on Tuesday, his office said.

I am very impressed by this man's dedication to duty and his country. He should, by all rights, take several days of bedrest.
But for some strong willed individuals, the work of the nation comes before one's own well-being.

God Speed, Vice President Cheney!

This is my first time posting topic
I was not the ideal child for any parent to have,I had 3 felonies by the time I was 13 and I messed up a few more times after nothing even in the same ball park ,but I still was unable to make a complete brake from my old way of living .The one thing that keep me going was the hope that when I was older my record would get expunged and I would be able to start a normal productive life .All I wanted to do was try and bring back get back my family's good name .I wanted to join the military to my father proud to have me as his son again, but now I find out even if it was a juvenile record I can't get into the military . Well I just have to say everyone gets mad at the reconvicted offenders but if they don't even get a chance at doing it right ,what else can be expected ?Why even try to do right if in the end it is all for not ?No matter how rare it happens plp do change ,and now I find out I don't even get a chance to prove it ,then why change at all.

...should fertility treatment be given on the NHS? We are always being told how stretched the NHS is financially and how there are huge waiting lists etc etc, so should expensive IVF treatment be paid for by the NHS? I was watching 'Tonight with Trevor McDonald' last night, and there was a couple who were ex-heroin addicts that had been given IVF treatment on the NHS. Now aside from the obvious stupidity on the part of the NHS there, IVF treatment is not a NEED it is a WANT, and I think that the NHS should only pay out for treatment that people NEED.

What do you think?

Also, going back to the two ex-heroin addicts, I am pretty sure neither of them earned enough to afford a place to live or to look after their babies, so guess who's paying for their accommodation and everything else? Yes, us, the taxpayer. What's going on with this government?
