There should be no amnesty or tolerance of any kind for any illegal immigrant. The U.S. does not need illegal immigrants. Due to a global economy and marginalization of our own underclass, there are enough U.S. citizens and permanent residents that will do this work if they knew where these jobs were and had free transportation to the job site. The illegal immigrants know where these jobs are because they are better networked than our citizens. The Catholic Church, La Raza, and the Mexican government are major components of this network.
The most effective way for individuals to stop illegal immigration is to vote for candidates in 2008 who have no tolerance for those who violate U.S. sovereignty.
There are at AT LEAST 12 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. costing taxpayers AT LEAST $125 billion annually which is far more than they save business.

i think the situation is dangerously out of control. I believe that the US government shouldn't give them amnesty or any help whatsoever. we have many problems in this country, we need to start helping our own citizens and quit worrying about the rights of those that don't belong here. most of us are decendants of immigrants, yet our grandparents/great-grandparents made sure they ascimilated into the American culture. they learned to speak English they worked hard, wanted to be here, and knew that no one owed them anything. At that time there were no social programs to assist them. If these illegal immigrants want to be treated as Americans, then they need to become Americans. No more help. do it the right way or GO HOME! maybe you think i am cruel, however i just don't understand why my tax dollars should fund someone with no legal rights to anything, why should they get a break when i was born here, work hard and pay taxes? there needs to be a change in this country...and since many of the American citizens want there to be harsh penalties for the illegals, perhaps we should start there. They have no rights here. I am insulted that the our government would even want to help them out. why not help the Americans already in need of help? why do we ignor them? the un-insured, the un-employed, the lower middle class.. and its not welfare.. that system is worthless to those that work hard and yet still struggle with the basic needs such as heat and food.
so to the illegals.. get out of my country. go home.. and come back only when you do so legally. Please speak English, work hard and be a productive member of society, obey our laws, and be grateful for being here. we do not owe you a thing. remember that.

It is long past time to get those who enter illegally out of the US. If they cannot have the decency to follow even the most basic of laws, why should we want them here? I have lost all patience I ever had with the issue,at this point I say deport anyone caught illegally here, immediately. And enforce the laws against employers hiring illegals with such vigor that no employer would consider it worth his trouble. In short do everything possible to make life as an illegal in the US intolerable. Then once we have a handle on the problem,we can discuss immigration reform,on our terms as it should be.

It is totally out of control.......No amnesty.....no path to citizenship......Implement work programs with 6 month visas renewable each year...This is essence would share the love in Mexico...... 6 months here and 6 months at home......It would cut the amount of our Mexican immigrants in 1/2........Request that employers that benefit from the workers labor to implement health care programs for them which are government subsidized........not government funded that way the federal government who also benefits from them being here would share the burden with the employer who in essence has these people in modern day slavery.

amnesty doesn't work. we proved that 20 years ago.
what we need to do is enforce the laws we have on the books, and we need to monitor the border.
we need a constitutional ammendment to overturn Plyer v Doe, and to clarify Birthright citizenship requirements: both parents need to be legal residents of the US, either as Resident Aliens or citizens.

I say they should all be sent packing, to what ever country they left to enter the US ILELGALLY!
That is the only HUMANE answer.
Soon, Americans are going to say enought is wnough and you are going to see another Tea Party of sorts, except instead of protesting taxes, we are going to be protesting our governments inability and unwillingness to do anything about ILLEGAL INVADERS.
Write you congressmen, senators, govenors etc, I DO!

Illegal immigration is out of hand for sure! First thing to do is to close the border, fines for businesses that hire them.
