I would say both parties have their own wealthy benefactors.
Having said that it has been always portrayed by the gran media apparatus that the Republican party is for the rich. And the Democratic party is for the working, overtaxed and hard working man.

But when you examine our taxes and other
govt. fees you will see that the majority of tax and spend initiative's are passed thru by the members of the Democratic party with some Republican support of course but by enlarge it has always been a liberal agenda to take from those who work hard for something and give to those who have chosen not to get up and do something about the situation in their lives. And make a reach for the American Dream.

The Democrats will do this re-distribution of wealth as long as they are assured the votes of that certain voting block. It will secure their seat of power in Washington for many years to come.

Having money and supporting policy that is strictly FOR the wealthy are two different things. Warren Buffett and Bill Gates have set the bar pretty high for the socialy responsable wealthy people. So to ask wich party is the party of the Wealthy you must consider not how much money they have, but how the policies they support affect the richest five percent of Americans.

Add in the democrats Hollywood base and you have them as the wealthy party who acts like they want to do something for the poor or middle class but only if it makes us wards of the government.

Well both get their noses right up the brown eye of the rich but in general the GOP are the ones who like to cut taxes which helps the rich much more than the middle/poor classes and the GOP has generally been against a large portion of government assistance to lower income people.

Both parties cater to lobbyists which means that special interests will get their share first. They both need the support of the rich in order to fund their campaigns.

The difference is that the Democrats also believe in a redistribution of weath through taxing the rich and giving "entitlements" to the poor. This ensures they will get the vote of the poor.

That's kind of hard to say. There is wealth on both sides in both parties so I don't believe you can categorize that way. As far as spending goes, I believe the Republican party uses it's wealth more wisely and they are "rich in spirit", as well. Democrats enjoy spending your wealth, not theirs! That is a major difference!

They both are wealthy or they wouldn't be in politics trying to shove the rest of us around while we work. I would say the Democrats have more. Look at Kerry, Clinton and all the Kennedy family. While they pretend to help the hard working poor, they line their pockets and those of their friends.

Didn't Laura just have a quiet birthday, without cost to anyone alone with her family? Uh huh.
