Shouldn't they be exempt from this and other laws?
In my state, if someone murders a child or a grandmother, they get life in prison. If you murder a cop, you get the death penalty.

It does apply to cops. Cops lose their jobs and firearms for Lautenberg issues just like regular mortals.

This does apply to cops. While working in the jail for a few years I had to work with one guy from warrants that was under investigation for allegedly slapping his ex. he was moved to the jail since it is a non firearm position until the investigation was completed by CID and IAD.

If he was found to have committed the act he would have been fired immediately. He was later exonerated of the accusation and the ex charged with filing a false report. HE asked the charges to be dropped if she would agree to have no further contact with him and move out of the state as she was discussing after the divorce. There were no children between the two.

If you are convicted of a felony anywhere in USA you can no longer own a firearm or be in posession of one. So if convicted of a felony you should not be able to be a cop.

If a Police Officer is arrested, and convicted of domestic violence, he will no longer be a Police Officer, and yes it does apply to them.
