That pretty much sums it up.. we don't want any dishonest people in our office. Someone stole $100 from one of the girls' purses today, and we want to polygraph all of the employees that were there during that shift. Is this legal? What if someone refused?

I had a friend that was 14 years old at the time and he said he was illegally a police officer. I had my doubts about this from the beginning.....but he kept insisting it was true and he provided me with so much info about it that I felt compelled to believe him.

Then he changes the subject and tells me the job is legal...being that I wanted to Become an FBI Agent, I figured some experience would be beneficial.

I do however suffer form depression form time to time...and he denied me of the job because he said people wit mental probs cant be cops.....i found out that ppl wit mental issues cant legally be denied the job of a cop without a personal psych eval by the police agency. So he was actually breaking the law by denying it to me.

I believed he was lying, but i wanted to confirm it. I contacted the local police and asked them. They laughed at me and said "wut do u think??"

Was he lying about being a cop?

No matter what the evidence, liberals insist that only their tender ministrations are capable of calming murderous dictators. Negotiation and engagement are said to "work" because, after Democrats spend years dillydallying with lunatic despots or evil communist empires who threaten America, eventually a Republican president comes in like Reagan or Bush and get the job done with 'Cowboy Diplomacy'.

I understand why you can't yell fire in a theatre. I understand why i can't shoot someone. I am willing to give up those things.
But if america is so free why can't i drive without a seatbelt?
or be convicted of disorderly conduct? can you have mere "disorderly conduct" as a charge in a free society.

Henry was one of the top liberal politics contributors in this section of the forum.

Politcally, I disagree with him on almost everything.

However, I have come to respect him more.

I presume that he had his account suspended unfairly too.

Why is that?

Henry wasn't the troll kind.

This is getting to be outrageous.

Liberals, I'm defending Henry F.Y.I.

Apparently Yahoo turned over information to the Chinese government which resulted in the jailing of a dissident, seemingly to remain in the good graces with that government so that Yahoo could continue doing business in China.

Pat Robertson Endorses Giuliani for President

Back in mid-2001, when Mayor Rudy Giuliani was busy committing adultery, lurching into his divorce and third marriage and rooming with a gay couple he promised to marry as soon as the law allowed, who among us would have imagined that one day he would be endorsed for president by Pat Robertson? Truly, Sept. 11 changed everything. Odd though this may be, it raises the question of what an endorsement actually means.

In Michigan I heard a lot of Dems complaing that if people had to show id's that this was just the republicans trying to supress the voters who are pro Democrat. Are the Democrats saying that their voters don't know how to get a photo id? In the last Michigan election over 60 dead people voted, I would think this would be a good enough reason for everyone to want to stop voter fraud.

All I've been hearing about lately is Republicans like Romney trying to justify infringing on civil liberties and human rights by saying that "the most important human right is the right to life." Don't idiots like this realize that THOUSANDS of Americans gave their lives defending our liberties and freedoms? Our founding fathers who fought in the Revolutionary War were labelled traitors by the British and risked being hanged, drawn and quartered if they were captured. But they fought anyway because liberty and freedom meant more to them than their lives. Around 250,000 American troops died in WWII protecting our freedom and the American way of life. And here we have these Republican cowards willing to throw it all away and trample on the Constitution so many died for just to protect their wretched necks. If you want to protect our country, fine, more power to you, but there is a line we must NEVER cross.

"Give me liberty or give me death." - Patrick Henry

I don't know about you, but I rank airport security 3rd behind military bases and power plants. So much for the claim that "they come here and do the jobs Americans won't do." Or, if that's true in this case, we've got a much bigger problem.

I am a college sophomore. My college says that all freshmen and sophomores must live on campus. I am planning on moving out at semester, but will still be a sophomore. Why is is that they won't allow sophomores to move out, but if you do something wrong or don't pay, you get evicted? Are those my only options or do I have legal rights to living off campus?

I'm so bored with Bush, Cheney and Giuliani banging the War Drum with regard to Iran. 2000 armed Saudis have crossed into Iraq, killing far more soldiers than those fallen by Iranian supplied weapons. Can we really force regime change in Iran without an occupation? If yes, why are we occupying Iraq?
