I've literally been around the world in different countries. I am definitely proud to me an American. Although at times I don't agree with some of the decisions made by this government, I wouldn't change how I feel about this country. Not very many places in the world where you can voice your opinion so freely.

Proud to be American -- Proud to not have to wear a lapel pin

Proud to live in an America where McCarthy like tests of loyalty and patriotism are no longer widespread, but wary that such tests are slowly gaining traction again

Sentinel - Were you born yesterday??

because it is pride that is hardest to swallow, you shouldn't have any of it.
Of all things to be proud of, your country is not one of them.
Nationalism is dangerous, because people bite off more than they can chew! They get cocky, and then they choke.

now, I'm not American, i'm canadian, and happen to know some of the means by which this country has come to be what it is. I'm not proud to be rich (on an international scale)
at someone elses expense. I don't pretend to think that this country can grant me freedom, nor would I dare to say that an entire country's population is brave. Very few merit this honour. i could go on.... but i think i've made a point.

I am very proud to be.
Because if I was a citizen of a different country, I'd always want to live in the USA.
So I am proud to have what I do have.

I'm proud I WAS an American.

I'm honestly no longer sure what it really means
to be an American anymore.

It's as if it has come to be about something like deciding the correct flavor of ice cream more than anything else now. (Hopefully without extra lead in the topping.)

There are things that I'm not proud of that the U.S. has done and things could be better here, but at the end of the day there is nowhere I would rather live then the land of the free.

Proud today, tomorrow and forever....its sort of asking me if I am proud of my children...love them with all my heart, but sometimes they really tested that love..nothing could ever take that love away though..I love America so much I want to fix what ails it!
