I went to a rock gig at the sheffield hallam arena last night. I knew that i would not be able to smoke inside due to the new law. However I was amazed that they didn't operate a pass out system like other places do. I had to choose between seeing the show in its entity without a smoke or miss the whole show.I stayed but I shall not return there again. THIS WORLD HAS GONE MAD!
Do you think they had a right to hold me prisoner in this way?

A man was arrested for drug possession after telling authorities that two masked gunmen had stolen 150 pounds of marijuana from his home.
Hidalgo County sheriff's deputies arrived at the home near Penitas in South Texas to find the door kicked in and nearly 15 pounds of pot lying on the floor, Sheriff Lupe Trevino said.

Jose Guadalupe Flores, 35, escaped while the men ransacked the house but returned later and told the deputies he had been wrapping the drugs for shipment when the intruders arrived.

"The guy walked right up and said the drugs were his," Trevino said. "That's not the smartest move."

Flores, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, was charged with felony possession of marijuana at an arraignment hearing Monday. Because of his immigration status, Flores will be jailed until his case is heard.

Authorities were still searching for the gunmen.

If the cop is sitting at the side of the road and monitoring a speed of passing cars, there is probably nothing illegal about it. But are there any rules that govern that activity? For instance, can he just point his radar on EVERY passing car? Or maybe he has to “choose” the car because he suspects it of speeding? Where would I look for these rules? Are there state laws? (I’m interested in the state of New York) Any local laws or regulations?

Our constitution has provisions for impeachment of government officials who fail to do their job or are convicted of crimes. There is a hesitancy in congress and the senate to take impeachment action against the president and the vice president. Those who believe impeached should be taken are afraid to take a public stand because they may loose votes and be on the po-po list if they do not succeed. Maybe what we need is a constitutional amendment that says the President, the vice president or any member of congress or the senate may be removed from office by a majority vote of the people during the next public election regardless if their elected term has been completed. This way the American people could remove the person in office without the impeachment process and without the person being allowed to remain in office when they are not worthy of it and the politicians would be more constituent aware.

If she becomes president and we are attacked again, will the Secret Service have to kick her ?

Will she say we were attacked 'cause she is a GIRL?

This is a real experience I had with police officers and probation officers, even though the experience was really bad and sad it is ABSOLUTELY true. These police officers decided to pull me over and said I didnt have a drivers license and I did because I got my drivers license a week before they even pulled me over. then they told me to park in an area where there was NO ONE. If they wanted to arrest me for driving while license revoked, they could have arrested me right there on the spot. So they come to my car and tell me to "get out" cause I was under arrest, I told them I did have a so they charged me with resisting, cause i pushed them off of me they charged me with assualt on govt. official, and driving with license susepended. I called them Iiars when they took me to jail so 5 probation officers decided to chain my hands and legs. pulled my hair back and forth, punched me in the head multiple times, sprayed maze into my eyes. I fear my life now cause I dont trust these pepole.

The claim that armed citizens deter homicidal assaults contends with the claim that more guns escalate a domestic arms race. There is evidence on both sides.

However, is it safe to assume that more guns equal more violence? In the same way, say, that more waffle makers equal more waffles? Surely intent plays a role (that is, how a user plans to use a gun), but I'm wondering if the mere presence of guns can escalate a potentially violent scenario. And is there a difference between and ? Is so, what is it?

No real agenda here. I am simply trying to sort through the logic involved.

Please aim for a reasoned, logical answer: no rants or pro-gun/anti-gun tirades.

Please also note that the question does not ask whether more guns equals more or less crime. That is not the question. I am simply asking whether is a logical assumption or not.

As we see the likes of Feinstein, Durbin, etc trying to pass legislations that greatly benefit those not only broke the laws and keep abusing the system, but also rob the U.S citizens of their social and public resources, I am wonderring if there's any one out there who's trying to do something for the citizens??(I mean what a concept, right?)

Pornography and especially child porn is out of control through out the world and the forced sex, physical pain , mental horror and degragation perpetrated on these innocent victims is certainly crimes against humanity and warrants the involvement of the United Nations. The pleading, screaming and eventually broken hearts and minds of the adults, juveniles, and little babies are suffering hour after hour, day in and day out, month after month and eventually years are being ignored. This is a oppurtunity for the U.N. to receive a huge amount of respect instead of being manipulated by a superpower for various conviences.

Recently I accidently hurt someone (nothing major), it was an accident and I was still arrested and cautioned.
When I asked why? it was because I had to take responsibility for my actions however accidental they were. The charge being "assult without intent"

So my question is why are the police killing people and hurting others and not being arrested and charged?

Everyone seems, on the surface, to agree that education is important for our children... but why does it always stop there?

As soon as the question of raising taxes to fund education comes up, that attitude is all but forgotten. Nationally teachers make very little money compared to other professionals with a 4 year degree. If we paid an adequate salary, would the caliber of teacher increase as fewer people are turned away from the profession by economic factors? Class sizes are constantly getting larger, so our children receive less personal attention. Shouldn't current textbooks with accurate information be a necessity? The long term benefits for our children, and our country, seem to more than justify a small increase in taxes. How about once a month everyone gives up one of their $4.00 visits to Starbucks and we put that money where it will do some good!

Ok so last week i was in school & someone stole my $400 Tmobile phone. I called it as soon as I realized I didnt have it and the person transferd me to voicemail. i was really upset because that phone was a gift my boyfriend gave me & its a really nice phone.I filed a police report and did everything i had to do. I was about to pay my phone deductable but a friend from Tmobile called me monday & tracked it . They asked me when it was stolen & confirmed that this person started using my phone 30 min after my phone was stolen. i was givin the name and cellphone number of this person and i called the theft division and gave them an update on my case. after that i decided to call my school & see if they knew that student and they did, they called that person and told them they needed to turn the phone in. So should i continue to press charges against this person? The officer told me to call them as soon as I get the phone & let them know if i still wanted to press charges.

I had an accident over a month ago, had to rent a car which my insurance company pays 80% of the bill. When I went rent the car, i talked to the manager and she told me that i will only pay 3 dollars a day for the car i was going to rent. I mentioned I am a college student with a tight budget and she seemed to 'understand'. She never mentioned any other money I had to pay other than the 20% of the bill. However, when I went check on the car, she tells me I owe $600 dollars in insurance for the car. She never mentioned this charge, given that I told her about my tight budget to begin with. I DID put my initials in the contract when I got the car, but it never stated that I had to pay insurance. There were a bunch of random letters such as DTW $15.55 but i figured that it was the difference that State Farm was going to pay on the car. I will return the car today, however I refuse to pay the $600 and will dispute this charge with coorporate. Can I just refuse to pay for that amount ?
