Most of the immigrants I know HAVE to learn English, its a matter of survival, so how come there are certain people who refuse to do so? Are they considered developmentally delayed with the brain the size of a "bean"?

Hillary's recent statements about "the war on science" that Bush and others are making; and how she would put an end to it. Is a declaration for HER government, to step in and DICTATE what scientist and philosophers THINK?
The so called "war on science", was coined by some scientist who are losing a scientific debate with other scientist. Because the debate has touched on possible religious issues.
So Hillary, thinks SHE should step in, with the power of the government and decide what is science and what it isn't? Or that HER government should take sides in the debate and outlaw the scientist on the other side?
I say, BOO to Hillary Clinton, for this proclamation. What do you say?

We can own guns here in the US. My thought is that perhaps nunchucks would be harder to track and can be homemade whereas you would be harder pressed to find alot of homemade guns. Anyone actually know this one? Thanks

My neighbor is "disabled" (not really, supposedly it's a problem with her legs and "virtigo", but she plays on the kid's scooter, and plays a mean game of pick up basketball).
She has a 13 year old daughter that is "slow". She's not really disabled, but she rides the short bus to school, if you know what I mean.

They have been without electricity for over 5 weeks. They were "jacking" some from a neighbor, but they got caught and are currently living without.

Should I report her? The kid isn't a baby, but there is no end to this in sight.

Also, who do you report disability fraud to. It just "dawned" on me that it's illegal too.

What do you think?
Leave well enough alone?

My family is considering to migrating to Australia, but for a long time i've wanted to study law in US. I am very confused as to where I should live in the future. My main concern for US is safety (not street safety but terrorism and all that..) and difficulty in getting green card.

Please give some unbiased views on this, thanks!

I love my country and want to serve in the military. I have recently met with recruiters from several different branches to consider all my options. Each one has given me Standard Form 86, Questionnaire for National Security Positions. However, I do not want a job that requires a clearance and this form is pretty in-depth and time consuming and I don't want to waste my time retrieving all the info if I don't even need a clearance. The recruiters say that I have to complete it but the instruction page in the very front of the packet clearly states "Complete this form only after a conditional offer of employment has been made for a position requiring a security clearance. Giving us the information we ask for is voluntary." Is this form required from me if I want to enlist?

After finding out that I got declined for a business credit card, I decided to find out why that was the case by reviewing my credit report, then to my surprise I found out that I have a collections statement on my credit report.
I called the debt collectors office and they said they sent out 14 letters notifying me that I owe a bill from my dental office, however the address they sent those to is my father's address, I don't live with him and I have never lived with him so why are they sending it there? My father has not even contacted me to tell me I owe a bill or they are trying to contact me. The dental office has my address and phone number so why didnt they contact me and why didnt the debt collector contact me before putting a collection statement on my credit report is that legal?

I did move however I still had my old cell number up until last year and I had all my mail from my old address forwarded to my new address so what happened? The collections attorney said they are filing a lawsuit in a couple of days if I dont pay them, I asked him well how can I pay and how can this end up on my report if I never recieved a bill or any notification, about a bill to begin with. I spoke to my father and he said he made a payment to them and he agreed that he will pay monthly until the bill is paid up but he stopped apparently, I had no idea about this either until today. I have to wait until thurs. to speak to a woman in charge of billing who won't be in the dental office until thursday.

Is this my fault and should this be on my credit report if they made an agreement with my father and notified him, instead of notifying me as the patient??

I am working on getting my degree in criminal justice but I have a felony on my record from 6 years ago for drug use. Because I have been in no trouble since I am getting it expunged from my record. Will this prevent me from getting certain jobs pertaining to this degree. Is it even worth it to go to all the schooling for the degree? Do you think I should major in something else? I hate to go through all the schooling and not be able to use a degree because of something I did stupid when I was younger that will soon be expunged.Help me out please. Thanks

Ok obviously we can not ever stop things like hurricanes, forest fires, or earthquakes. That said when they happen how come we do not just immiditatly pour in resources to the area. For instance if a disaster needs 1000 responders why do we not right off the bat send 5000. I know we need to be prepared for contigencies elsewhere but this is America we should have the resources.

So, I recently got a job at Cinemark. They hired me, and I was doing orientation. Near the end of orientation, they found out I'm 15. So basically I got fired for not being 16. The age limit for minors to work in my state is 14. I was not aware of Cinemark's company policy to not hire below 16. This policy was not brought to my attention, nor was it on the application. I did not lie at anytime during the hiring process. It was there fault for not calculating my age from the birthday I provided them. Plus I'm not being paid for the hours I did for orientation. Is there anything I can do about this?

Now before you answer consider these details.
1. They gave me a paper citation (not the actual ticket), and told me a ticket would come in the mail.
2. I made the mistake of telling the police officer that my parents already knew I smoked, which may have inspired him to teach me a lesson by making sure I get the ticket.

but....
3. They made me call my parents and they had to leave a voice mail saying they knew about the citation (basically, the cop made me tell my parents), so maybe he thought that was enough punishment.
and
4. I've heard of other people who have gotten citations and who's tickets never came.

By the way, I live in Minnesota and was pulled over in Champlin where the cops are usually jerks. Please no answers lecturing me on not smoking. I just want to know if I should be expecting the ticket or if the officer was just trying to scare me.

Even Bill Maher hates them:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=HFmqZVUG7Mw
I went to a memorial service in Manhattan on 9/11, and they were all over the damn place. The NYPD let them stand across the street and chant "9/11 was an inside job!"
So, would anyone here object to making it legal to beat them until red snotbubbles come out of their nose?

Hillary says she has a lot of good ideas she will implement if elected president. Hopefully who ever is elected has ideas on how to repair the worlds opinion about America, how to clean up the illegal immigrant problem (not by giving amnesty to illegals or spend more tax payers money making them happy), get run away gas/oil costs in-check, prevent WWIII, and finish the job in Iraq and bring our troops home. Do we need someone who has a lot of good ideas or someone with solutions to the major issues facing our country for our next president? Why has she not told us what these "good ideas" are? Are they more ideas like give money to everyone in one hand and take twice the amount away with the other?
