None really -- other than the general limits that children are not considered legally competent to make any decisions on their own behalf -- meaning that such decisions are made by a parent or guardian ad litem.

But aside from who makes the decision -- a child defendant has at least the same constitutional legal rights as an adult -- and often has many more statutory rights.
