Why are nunchucks illegal in so many areas?

Question

We can own guns here in the US. My thought is that perhaps nunchucks would be harder to track and can be homemade whereas you would be harder pressed to find alot of homemade guns. Anyone actually know this one? Thanks

Hey Jerry, yeah Ive seen a couple prison docs which show they can be made (well crude ones at least) I just figured making nunchucks might be less time consuming and easier, but I cant really say. I think its fascinating people can make guns. I had always thought you needed some sort of steel mold to actually do it Thanks for the answer

No idea why they are illegal, but I wanted to address your comment about homemade guns. I myself make guns. I make every part of the gun and have made one of just about every caliber.

I do mainly make rifles, but I have ventured into the handgun realm once or twice.

Martial arts style weapons are illegal because idiots who watch too many movies think they're Bruce Lee and gonna save the world from itself. And end up causing injury and damage where it wasn't necessary.

Any true martial artist who is proficient in those weapons knows how to use items that have no designation as weapons to begin with. Most have also been in programs long enough to have the mental discipline to know when such action is justified.

NUN CHUCKS ARE A MARTIAL ARTS WEAPON AND ARE REGISTERED AS SUCH. THEY ARE LEGAL TO BUY BUT ILLEGAL TO CARRY OR USE.
SAME CAN BE ADDRESSED ABOUT THROWING STARS.

WEAPONS WERE MADE BY GANGS IN THE 50-60'S OUT OF A PIPE AND RUBBER BAND AND A BULLET WITH A HANDLE TO HOLD IT "ZIP GUNS".

IN PRISON THEY CAN MAKE A RIFLE OUT OF STEEL FIT TO THE CAL OF THE BULLET THEY FIND OR HAVE BROUGHT IN. HAVE SEEN TRIGGER MECHANISMS, BARRELS WITH LAND GROVES.

Too easily abused.
It dosen't need a silencer like firearms.
Designed to inflict human injury.
Has no valid hunting application.
Conceals too easy.
But what probably killed their legal usage
was the violence driven usage of them in film;
they presented a too repulsive profile.

nunchucks are no more dangerous than a club or a baseball bat in untrained hands

Because they are a weapon that can be used by all. There is limited need for a law abiding citizen to be carrying them.
