According to Tim Flannery, the upcoming version of the IPCC report will contain new data showing that the level of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere has already reached critical levels

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071009/ap_on_sc/climate_change

He said the data showed that the amount of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas concentrations had reached about 455 parts per million by mid-2005, well ahead of scientists' previous calculations.

"We thought we'd be at that threshold within about a decade, that we had that much time," Flannery said. "I mean, that's beyond the limits of projection, beyond the worst-case scenario as we thought of it in 2001," when the last major IPCC report was issued.

Additionally, studies have shown that arctic sea ice is melting 3 times faster than climate models predict.

Well prove it

They are a private security firm owned by former Navy SEAL Erik Prince
They provide security all around the world to FEMA workers in New Orleans after Katrina, serve as bodyguards to politicians (in both parties) when traveling overseas
So prove they are Bush's private army but do a little research before spewing ignorant hate

For church, we display worship song lyrics with an lcd projector. The words are superimposed over a photo, usually a nice serene nature scene.

What would be the copyright laws involved in using photographs found on the web for this purpose? Do I need the expressed written consent of each photographer? (and on the web the photographer might not even be listed) Does copyright law even come into affect since the display of these images provides no profit?

Thanks.

note: I'm also an avid amateur photographer myself, so I definitely feel for the rights of photographers

We saw them expose a CIA officer named Valerie Plame

Exposing a CIA officer is an act of treason and it also exposed many others that were still under cover out in the field.
They exposed her to discredit her husband Joe Wilson who had went to Niger and verified Saddam did not purchase components for WMD's like the Whitehouse said was the reason for the Iraq war. "Mushroom Clouds"

Now they have exposed a company who did nothing but research terror groups and the websites they use. This took the last seven years to develop and was an enormous tool in tracking chatter and video posts by Islamic extremists. Because of this al_Qaida is now silent on the net with little or no way of knowing what they are up to. The whole program has gone black.

How are we supposed to fight a war on terror when the Whitehouse keeps going out of its way to damage information capabilities.

America is not safer since 9/11, other than the fact that they put troops as targets in the Middle East

By coincidence or design, the first question of the debate went to Thompson, making his first appearance with rivals who have been campaigning for months.

He said the economy is strong, with no threat of a recession in the immediate future.

This is the guy who stole a 52 cent doughnut from a store and is now going to be tried for a felony assault because a woman from the store grabbed him outside the store and he ran away. She is claiming that he pushed her.

The guy has a string on convictions with no violent acts recorded.

Looks like the only witness to the alleged attack is a woman who chased a guy down in her car for a 52 cent doughnut, which I think is excessive. She claims the guy hit her before running away.

In my experience in marital arts people generally pull away from a grab, they do not generally move into a grab unless trained and if this guy had been trained he probably would have had more violent convictions.

So what do you think, toss a guy in prison to spend 30 years for stealing 52 cents worth of bread?

ow i have to pay back money, i am appealing the temp agency. Due to lack of work, Umemployment is saying i did not actively seek work, but i turned in a job search sheet. What are my chances? Also after not having any work for 3 weeks again, the temp agency called. Why do they wait so long? Also they told me(unemployment) that i have to pay back the amount i was given! When offered a job through this temp agency they told me i would be at my job for awhile also it was temp to hire. Both did not happen. I called them a week in advance for more work. They never responded. So i filed for unemployment. Wrote out my job search sheet, and called them 1 time a week. The lady at unemployment said did they have you sign any sheets for when you need to call them? I said no. I waited a week and then received a letter saying i was denied my claims. Are temp agencies this hard to claim against when they dont give you work and also lie about temp to hire?

Is it to preside and rule over a country, or to lead a country?

I see too many politicians who take option A, not listening to the people, just laying down new laws for them.

I see too many politicians playing a popularity contest with their opponents, when all their policies should be the same if they are for the same people.

Why vote for a party that only has half of what we want to see?

Subject: Full Time American’s opinion of 110th Congress Performance Rating
This is possibly, the most embarrassing representatives of our country put together in one group with the entire world as an audience. What were you “Career Politicians” thinking of? We are paying you $150,000.00 plus a year for what?
• Working less than 200 days year
• Submitting bills to the President that will fail
• Submitting trivial resolutions
• Grandstanding children to endorse Legislation
How dare you chastise a novice legislative body like Iraq’s when there are so many expert “Career Politicians” who are conducting this countries legislation like some “reality TV” show. It is a sad day when this particular country (The United States of America) sets this kind of example for the other governments of the free world to follow. I personally think you “Career Politicians” need to get your collective butts together and do something responsible. If you can’t do it here then get on a plane and go to Iraq, coach and mentor the new government there just like our military

Hubby works nights for which time I have to have a carer. He does not have the oppurtunity or luxury to strike. For those of you that do not know, we do not get free anything for me being diasabled. But we prefer that Hubby earns a living rather than claiming it all back in benefits. I am currently waiting for a hospital letter regarding an operation. With the postal strike it is easier to phone the hospital. Do they not realise that post is not the only form of communication? If Hubby could get a job with the post office it would boost our money substantially, but alas, he has to continue to work for a very low wage.

I've been renting a house with my wife now for about 1 1/2 years. My wife though has been living here for a little over 7-8 years. She has 2 children, the oldest is 7, and we have a new born that is going to be 1 this Christmas. The house that we live in, is probably close to 60-70 years old and is very run down. I painted the inside of the house living room, bedrooms and bathroom myself about 1 year ago. I am an amatuer, just used basic coat of paint to cover up scratches and filled in holes. My wife said that her and her family painted it themselves also about 6 years ago, also an amatuer job, basic coat cover up. I suspect that the original paint in this house, throughout is lead based. I feel that the landlord/Owner has never fixed anything of original condition. If I find out that My wife and her kids have been living here in a lead and mold environment for 7yrs "kids", since birth and me for almost 3yrs. Can I sue them for not complying when state laws changed for lead paint?

I'd like to get copies of the service records of my great great grandfather who served in WW1 in the Russian Imperial Army. After reporting for duty, he was sent to the German Front. He wrote one letter to his wife (my great great grandmother). After that he disapeared, never to be heard from again. One generation later there is a family story that my great grandfather (his son) was living in Petrorad. He was a Party Member and happened to run into a man from his village who served with his father. The other man said that my great great grandfather and this man said a Jewish Prayer commonly said when one feels he is close to death, left the trenches and ran towards the German line. Everything became choatic and the man said when it was over, bodies were everywhere and he never saw him again. He was unable to confirm if he died and the man was just glad to have survived himself.

Top Ten Reasons to Keep Gay Marriage Illegal

01) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

02) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

03) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

04) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all like many of the principles on which this great country was founded; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

05) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of marriages like Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.
