My wife had to call 911 while we were staying at a hotel so that I could be treated for a severe medical condition. I was apalled to find a "Long Distance" charge on my hotel bill upon checking out.

Can I represent my father in small claims court, so that he does not have to travel? A former friend of ours owes my father money, and I want to take her to small claims. She lives more than 5 hours away from my dad and that too far for him to travel to court. I realize that if we have to file the lawsuit in the venue where the person we are filing against, resides. Anyone know? We have tried mediation for over a year, and are running out of time to process the suit. I just want her to pay for the money she owes my dad. He's on a fixed income and has health issues. She really burned her bridge with us and ruined a good friendship.

Im a college student and was recently offered a teller position by a bank. They asked me if I was a US citizen or permanent resident and I replied no but I have authorization to work. The lady said she would have to hold off the job offer and run it through corporation. What does that mean? Should I have told her that we are in the application process of permanent residency?

I am about to give in notice to my employers. I don't have another job lined up or anything, I just want to leave. I want to say to them that I'll work out the month but I'm only required to give a weeks notice. Can they demand I leave after the week? Please let me know what you think.

I know of a 27 year old male sending text messages to a 15 year old. Is that against the law? What can be done about this? Plus this is his phone he loaned to her so he could communicate with her. Is it against the law?

I have seen it over and over and over again on these boards and other places. They are filled with confusion about what it means to win in Iraq. They prattle on endlessly about what it might mean or not mean to win, how many angels can fit on the head of a pin, talk it endlessly to death.

They can't even decide what the heck IT MEANS TO WIN much less how to go about it.

I say its a baaaad idea.

Putting aside the usual if's and why's is it illegal to download
the anarchist cookbook in the uk even if it is widely available
in US. Is this another basic freedom issue, ironically when
the States are the greatest proponents of terrorists being
around evey corner.

When they don't always find jobs for you right away, and never respond back after you have been with out work for awhile.
Also why is it smaller companies or temp agencies appeal the claims?

I know some states allow men to sign over their parental rights before the child is born.

I'm having a baby with a no-good deadbeat and want to see if he'll sign and free my of a stress-filled life....PLEASE HELP!

--> He has four children already and is a terrible parent. On top of that he's already said he doesn't give a sh*% about me or the baby......so I just need to know if this process is possible in MN.

I wonder does God support the war in Iraq or any war for that matter. In war time people are killed for things like oil, greed, wanting to conquer new lands, power and control and many other ridicilous reason. All things God opposes God doesn't mind a war that is fighting in his name. But the war were in now has absolutely nothing to do with that. Do you think He is displeased? And even with our government has a whole?

...we pay the best professional athletes as much as a brain doctor's salary, instead of 20 times his salary, and give the owners a certain amount of profit to be gained. Therefore, all the money they make off of US, the fans, could be given to the government so we won't be in debt for the next 100 years? Do you think the athletes would go on strike or realize it's for a good cause and continue playing? I know it's just hypothetical, but could this somehow work?

"This weekend, I attended and spoke at the Second Amendment Foundation’s annual Gun Rights Policy Conference, which was held at a convention center in northern Kentucky, a few miles away from Cincinnati. What I saw and heard there changed my mind about the viability of Ron Paul’s presidential candidacy; Paul is going to far outperform the expectations laid out for him."

I have an interview with a finance company. Not sure if they will hire me, but assuming that they ask...should I take job?

There is one thing to consider however. I'm collecting unemployment (I quit my job because they moved.) If I take the job and hate it, then I can't collect anymore..(unless there is some rule.)

Any advice?

My mom and dad have a "order of protection" against my brother. Also he has been given 10 days to get all his personal belongings out of the house. There are two dates on this protection order, the date they went to court and then there is a filing date. Which date is it that is used to determine the amount of days that are left to get his belongings out of the house?? The court date or the filing date??
