Top Ten Reasons to Keep Gay Marriage Illegal
01) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.
02) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
03) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.
04) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all like many of the principles on which this great country was founded; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.
05) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of marriages like Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

06) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.
07) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
08) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.
09) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.
10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

Yes we should be able to legally marry and no it won't ruin society. First on my agenda though is being able to serve openly in the military. I had to stay in the closet for my 24 years of Army service and it wasn't at all fair. This Gay M1A1 master gunner was the best shot with the M256 cannon the Army ever had. Shooting straight is the only thing straight about me.

I think people like you make hate in society and gay marriage should be legal! It's not true that Straight familys only raise straight and Gay only raise Gay. My grandmother is Gay and my dad is Straight and OMG im straight too and i have children and guess what they aren't gay just because they were raised around a gay family member.

I will take the time to refute your questions:
01) Being gay is not a lifestyle, it is not a choice. It is something that is genetic. Why would 10% of the population choose to be descriminated against, hated, and dispised by people like you?
02) Gay marriage should be offered. In my experience Gays who share their lives together stay together longer the straight marriages.
03) This whole section is nothing but a bigotted statement.
04) Again you state untruths, yes straight marriage has been around a long time. Women are not still property, blacks can marry whites, and divorce is legal.
05) Straight marriage will be uneffected by Gay Marriage. Except if you are a closet gay and would divorce your mate and have a same sex marriage.
06) Straight marriages are not valid because they produce children. Children are not the only reason people get married. I know lots of straight couples who have been married for a long time who choose not to have children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children. There are 6,000,000,000 people in the world right now. There are more people alive at this moment then have died in all of history. I also resent the fact you mention infertile couples and old people as people who should not be married. I am infertile and so is my wife, we have been married for 37 years and plan on 113 more years together. Can you say that? What should I do, throw her out into the street? You should read what you wrote. Are your parents or grandparents still married?
07) Since Gays cannot have children obviously, straight parents will raise gay and straight children.
08) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. Are you sure in all religions? America is not a theocracy, it is a republic. The Constitution guarantees the right to believe or not to belief in any religion. The values of one religion should not be imposed on the entire country. That's why we don't have only one religion in America.
09) This statement is all bull. 50% of all marriages in America end in divorce. We have a ton of single parent households.
10) The foundation of society is based on an ever changing ideals. The Constitution was written over 225 years ago. There have been lots of amendments over those years to update the Constitution. What about the other things we live with now that were never mentioned in the Bible. Like automobiles, electricity, dishwashers, heaters, air conditioners, freedom, no slavery, a woman's right to vote and to run for office, aircraft, submarines, guns, movies, TV, and on and on.
I feel that your rant is not informed with any sense of reality. You are truly the worst bigot I have seen on Yahoo Answers since I started answering questions. On top of all that, I have spent my whole life being accosted by God fearing Christians who feel that their way is the only way. Do not ever forget Christianity was based on Judaism. I am very proud to say I am a Jewish person, who has never once in his life tried to convert anyone.

You haven't been around nature much or on a farm have you? Animals do it with the same sex all the time...it is nothing more than a show of dominance and nothing more than that. And in fact it IS "natural" There have also been very prominent people through out time who have been very gay...Michelangelo for one (WHO by the way painted the Sisten Chapel)
Oh...I get it...you were being sarcastic...Well, I agree with you. As long as they don't harm other people, then I don't care what people do in their bedroom. When they start pushing it off onto ME then that is where I draw the line!

Thank you, that one made my day. Did you know that sodomy is a punishable offense in Texas, meaning that gay sex is illegal? The backward ways of our great nation really don't make sense. Gay marriage should be legal, it would probably make the world a better, gayer (happier =P) place.

I dont understand people who say it should be illegal. If gay marriage is legal, and you're straight, why would you care at all? Marriage is done through religion if i'm not mistaken, so why does our government have anything to say in it? WHO CARES IF ITS LEGAL OR NOT? WILL IT REALLY AFFECT YOU? People are obviously born that way , it's natural and like someone said, other species do it, then why not humans? Isn't that being somewhat prejudice to someone that isn't the same, but a minority? Being homosexual, heterosexual, bisexual, whatever, is the way you are and if us cocky, ignorant americans can't get over people being DIFFERENT, how are we mature enough to deal with other issues that are WAY more important, like global warming, or the millions of starving people that go hungry every day?

Expressing discrimination are you? Marriage may be a religious thing, but homosexuality isn't going to stop. People are gonna love who they want to love, It isn't your business. Homosexuality does not lead to bizarre behaviors. People who are not in their right minds leads to bizarre behaviors. I don't know if you have noticed but not everyone in America practices Christianity. America is changing, sometimes for the better or worse, because not everyone agrees with everyone.
#6 Ok, since when did infertile couples and old people get involved in this category??? Why can't infertile couples and old people get married?? Just because a couple gets married dosn't mean they need to have children. And how do you know orphanges are full?? The world is filled with children who need a home, ones who are hungry, living in a dangerous environment and sick.

Even Bill (I didn't have phone-sex with that woman) O'Reilly favors gay adoption for kids that need adoption. Is this a back door endorsement of gay marriage?
Its in the future, perhaps in my lifetime. I would ask conservatives who say God is against gay marriage - Have you asked God?
- and what did She say?

Well, if they let gays marry I'll have to break up with my wife. At least that is what the opponents say; that it will ruin the institution of marriage.
No. If we ever split up (not likely), it will NOT be because Adam marries Steve.
