I like that Robbo..."He did well apart from sending hundreds of British troops to their death on false premises"
Nice one mate. Just remember at election time who paid for those British lives....

Blair blatantly lied about Iraq, and a number of other issues.
He pandered to the Bush administration in the US rather than caring about the interests of his own people and country.
He was an insincere politician who liked to jump on any populist band wagon (apart from when it came to supporting Bush) rather than proposing well thought out policies and aims.
He was a control freak who used the politics of fear in an attempt to infringe our civil liberties and entitlement to personal privacy.
I tend to think that all the good things the Labour government have done since 1997 were despite Blair and more due to the influence of Gordon Brown. The only thing we can really thank Blair for is keeping the Tories out of power for the last ten years.

No, he didn't.
Before he was elected, I remember him saying that he was just asking for the British people to give him a chance. The electorate did. What a mess he and his Ministers made of it.
A booming economy deteriorated, the determination that money would solve everything, so billions of public money poured into institutions, but no organisation to administer it properly, as a result the money was frittered into a black hole. Excessive Social Security benefits, a vote catcher. A Civil Service and other public services cut to a non-operational level. The sending of troops to a non-winnable war, which was none of our business, without proper equipment or resources. The creation of Britain as one of the highest taxed countries in the world. The constant wish to submit to Europe in every respect. The repeated self-serving antics of members of the Government. The Human Rights Act, a charter for criminals. Pathetic inability to deal with the increase of crime. Absolutely no control of our borders, resulting in the country becoming innundated with illegal immigrants.
I could go on all night. The sooner this lot are kicked out the better.

Labour won a race against a dead duck, that's it. Then they use minorities to control majorities, which makes people resentful. Scare and control is very poor politics indeed. Labour treat adults like children and children like adults. People did not vote labour, they had no choice. Take speed cameras as an example, they are not about money, or saving lives, they are about control. In defence of labour perhaps people want to be controlled children, but I doubt it.

It's in the UK media's nature to build someone up just to knock them down again, and they did so with Blair. And then there's the media's readers who are like sheep and follow the crowd. There's your bulk Blair haters right there.
And yes, Blair did well in my opinion, although his one big mistake was getting involved in liberating the oil in Iraq for the benefit of the U.S. under the guise of searching for WMD.

I regard him as not serving the interests of this country but those of another state and himself. In a more vigorous age he would be in the Tower of London awaiting a trip through traitors gate
