In 1942, the United Nations was formed and adopted a world peace declaration. Five years later, the US declared Israel to be the Jewish homeland and gave money, support and weapons nessesary for the Jews to remove, terrorize and murder the Palestinians in that region. Totally going against the United Nations own rules. The land of Israel is holy to most all of the people in the region, not just the Jews. Why did our president do it? And why have we continued to support Israel to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars over the years? Our armed forces are trying to help the Iraqi people, how can they trust us when we are still helping the upsurper keep their holy land. That would be like another country declaring that Texas belongs to the Mexicans and then giving them the latest and greatest weapons to remove all the current occupants. We'd be irate! I don't understand why we did it or why we continue to break our own rules. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel-United_States_relations

Why is Rush being targetted by the media and liberals in Congress for his "phont soldiers" comment?

According to that thought process...

Why wasn't Obama targetted when he said that American soldiers were senselessly killing civilians and air-raiding Villages?

Why wasn't John Kerry targetted when he said, "You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq." And later accused soldiers of breaking into houses in the dead of night and killing civilians in cold blood?

Do liberals have more freedom of speech than conservatives?

Since when does Congress even have the authority to sanction private citizens for political freedom of speech?

Make it applicable only to the SECOND conviction for a violent felony.

The ONLY legitimate objection is, it might not be him - somehow we might have convicted the wrong guy.

But what are the odds that the same innocent guy was wrongly convicted of two separate violent felonies?

I mean, I think this is mostly technical - when it's the wrong guy, the reason they thought he raped and strangled Suzy is because he was just let out of prison after serving six years for raping and trying unsuccessfully to strangle Sally, in which case, why it bothers you that he still fries, I don't know.

But fine, if you don't think that's how it works, then make it official - in addition to 3 strikes you're out, let's have 2 violent felonies and you're dead.

'kay?

Each person in this forum has strong opinions, right, left or centrist. My question to you is this: Do you act on them? Seriously. Hopefully, most of you vote, and those who are over 18 and don't should just shut up , but other than voting? Do you actively campaign for a candidate, protest for a cause, donate money to causes/campaigns? Part of what is 'wrong' in America today is that too many people have no problem 'sharing' their opinions, but not enough willing to step up and make a difference. Your thoughts please.

I have watched this joke all my life and it seems to me the only ones punished by this is the very people it is supposed to help.
Cuba has been under an embargo of US trade since 196-what and Fidel has never missed a thing and he is still there.
The only reason to maintain it is the large Cuban vote.
Look at all the times countries have been sanctioned by the entire world through theUN,(supposedly).
All that ever happens is it creates a black market for China, Russia, France and others to make MORE money off these items than they could under normal trade.
Then what ever REGIME is in power takes the goods that are allowed in and only the privaliged get food medicine or fuel While the likes of Jimmy Carter beg for more time.
What for so maybe all the lower class people will die so only his dictator friends are left.
I picked Carter as an example.

What do you think?

Do they support war crimes and utter dishonesty?
Or are they just proud partisans, who really can't admit that a Republican has butchered the country so horrendously?

Democrats that I have talked to say that they want to vote for Hillary because it will be like having Bill in the office again. Does anyone else feel this way? My biggest problem concerns her platform. What does she even stand for? She flipflops all over the place, and seems to be promising the same things that Bush did except for government run universal healthcare. She wants to give $5000 to every kid born in America. Talk about bankrupting the country. Won't every person in the world rush to America on their due date in hopes of winning the lottery per se. I really do think that Obama is a better choice, atleast he upholds democratic ideals and he is not so polarizing. Do you think she is going to win the nomination, and if she does, will that ruin the DNC's chances of holding office?

I'm not judging. I just would like to hear some explainations from Republicans on why this is so. Also, if you could refrain from posting long Biblical passages, and maybe just summarizing if you need to, I would appreciate that.

I do and here's why .
Below is a copy of a post from a left-wing Y/A user in response to a question about Islamic Laws being harmful and degrading to women.

" Because US conservatives have killed hundreds of thousands of Muslim women, but are still smug about their moral superiority for some reason".

Now us adults know darned well that it's a lie . a blatant lie . Well what about our kids ? Do they 'know' it's a lie ? -- NO . of course not . Some maybe but not all . And that's what counts . Don't think it's dangerous ? PFFFFFT .. well then perhaps you'd like to explain how the Radical Islamist lies are not dangerous . Perhaps you'd like to explain how so many other ill-informed youths have believed the lies of Radical Islamists .
You can't differentiate because there is no difference .

I call on everyone to admonish and block every single user who posts outright dangerous lies like the one above !!

What Do You Think ?

More questions heh. I know when you join the military you can fill out a dream sheet during boot camp for all the bases you want to request (specifically I will more than likely go Air Force. But is there any way to have your first duty station be put in your contract after taking the asvabs? After doing a lot of research I would really like to be stationed at Elmendorf AFB in Alaska, though there are a few others I am looking in to (lakenheath, Hickam). Though going security forces im sure I will end up in the middle east sooner or later. I enjoy the outdoor activities and scenery though and i've never been to Alaska so it is looking good heh. Thanks. I know a guarantee doesn't mean much in the military, but i'd rather have it in writing than not at all.

I am willing to bet that the GOP held a meeting and told Bush to veto that bill and have their people permission to vote yes......

This way the republicans can publically distance themselves from a president with horrible ratings for the next election.

Bush can't run again, thankfully his career is over....the rest of the republicans can show how bipartisan and caring they are...and no one even talked about the money numbers that popped up over the weekend regarding Iraq...perfect timing (way to use a news cycle!!!!) We were all too focused on the veto.

and we Democrats helped!

Look at the numbers....$ Veto 35 Billion for American children and spend $190 Billion on Iraq and ask for $189 Billion for 2008 (associated press has the numbers)

They baited and switched (like how now we are in Iraq for freedom and terrorism when we really went for weapons that were never there)....and we all went for it!
