Pony Soprano got it right. The Dems raise the dead every election year.
But getting to the meat of your question, it won't ever happen. Yes, there is the possibility to reanimate the dead but to bring the person back to "life" would require locating the person's "life force" (soul, tonal, essence, etc.) after leaving the body, capture it, and then convince it to remain in the reanimated body.
Since our thoughts and "self" are nothing but electrical impulses that dissipate only to show up somewhere else (Heaven? Hell?), I think the possibility of bringing someone back to life will always be a scientific impossibility.
Except during voter registration in the Democratic primaries.

Gawd I hope not. While the fantasy of immortality is, like most fantasies, is appealing on the surface, the details leave something to be desired.
Then, too, my personal beliefs are that we're reincarnated anyway so coming back to life in the same body would sort of be pointless. Of course of you're a died in the wool atheist, I'd think such a prospect would be awfully appealing.

Quit dreaming , once you're clinically dead , your finished for the rest of time . We're no different from all of the other living things here on earth . When you chop a tree down , or pull a weed out , or smack a mosquito , they're all dead - - forever. So are we , we're all just a part of nature .

why would u want that freakin zombie apocalypse runnin around tryin to eat your brain and hear the slurping sound while ur memories fading away yum plus if we did that would u really want to go through the same thing funeral and stuff with ur loved ones and only god can do that if god wants us to resurrect people we would never have died remember never resurect the zombies man theyll eat ur brains!
