Why is Rush being targetted by the media and liberals in Congress for his "phont soldiers" comment?

According to that thought process...

Why wasn't Obama targetted when he said that American soldiers were senselessly killing civilians and air-raiding Villages?

Why wasn't John Kerry targetted when he said, "You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq." And later accused soldiers of breaking into houses in the dead of night and killing civilians in cold blood?

Do liberals have more freedom of speech than conservatives?

Since when does Congress even have the authority to sanction private citizens for political freedom of speech?

First, read the transcript from his radio show regarding the "phony soldiers". Note that contrary to what people on YA! are saying, he was NOT talking about soldiers who disagreed with the war, but was referencing two soldiers in particular who lied to the media, speaking of horrers of the war, when in fact they had NEVER been to Iraq or Afghanistan. Look up the transcript.

I guess you aren't paying attention. Kerry was subjected to relentless attacks on his patriotism, his military service, the statements you sited and his antiwar activism by the Swift Boaters, Limbaugh, Hanitty, Coulter etc. Obama gets criticized every day as well.

Rush put his foot in his mouth (again) and is suffering the consequences. It comes with the terrority -- he's a public figure. Congress is going a bit far with the censure bit -- but it is amusing that Rush is getting a dose of his own medicine and his supporters are now whining like little babies about it.

Obama and Kerry were targeted. Now, on to Rush God. The transcript was altered to move the person in question closer to the phony soldier remark. I read this on a news service wire, not a Democratic website. Rush was talking about phony soldiers long before the soldier in question was brought up. Now, while I don't care about he soldier in question, here are some undeniable facts. Rush has stated that Democrats are all white flag wavers = cowards. Rush has also stated that anyone that thinks the soldiers should be brought home are also white flag wavers and not intelligent enough to even discuss the issue. Now, he not only thinks that 70% of Americans are cowards and stupid, how many soldiers do you think are either Deomcrats or want to come home? This is total disrespect of Americans and soldiers. You can spin it all you want, but you can also read all that BS in his transcripts. He is nothing but a hate spreading SOB that hates at least half of the American people and says so. He supports only the ultra conservatives that agree with his hate for others. And he is getting rich off of it. Only in America.

Although there was am outcry in congress over the "phony soldiers" comment, there was no censure and there is no legal basis for any sort of censure. Rush Limbaugh loves that very kind of attention as it serves to advertise for him and does absolutely no harm to him whatsoever. If you look at the body of Rush Limbaugh's declarations, you will find that he is far more critical of liberals than liberals are of him. Rush is a master of taking things out of context. Someone criticizing something he says is no shock.

I want to know why, when one of the soldiers named by ol' Rush wanted to discuss this with him face to face, Limbaugh sounded the retreat and won't face him.
