Does someone with a GED have to score higher on their ASVAB and if so how much more? I am looking forward to joining with a GED and going Infantry. Also someone told me they only accept a certain percentages of new enlistees that have their GED, is that true? And if so what are my chances of getting recruited with my GED? I really am not looking for benefits, this is just a passion of mine.

my bf and i are really happy but before we got together he joined the national guard. Now since were together and happy he hates the national guard. Just recently he had to leave for training and he just got informed that in march of 2008 he will get deployed to Iraq. He wants out of the guard and i want him out so what are some ways he can get a discharge? Please help we are desperate.

Growing up, everyone around me is a democrat and thats all i've been exposed to but i whole heartedly agree that democrats have displayed cowardly behavior when it comes to making a difference.
However, I don't agree that it is ridiculous to believe there are ways to increase budgets for necessities such as healthcare. Also, Im still confused on the real reason we are investing so much in Iraq...

what if you had an abusive family background, a childhood in an area of deprivation, low career expectations, a bog-standard state education, low quality healthcare (meaning that if and when you get ill you have to survive on state benefits) and then see if youre quite as convinced of your arguments.

what if your loved-ones got ill so you had to quit work and care for them?

what if your firm went bust so that you suddenly find youre too old to get a new job?

what if you had to suffer the humiliation of choosing between working for McDonalds or going on welfare?

what if you had to watch as your old friends deserted you, considered you to be a lazy piece of welfare scum, or as too lazy/stupid to get a new job?

I don't mind a little kick...and I have a really good shot so I'm not worried about that. But I have small hands and I want an automatic...something that is small...and even if there is a bullet in the chamber that if I dropped the pin someone wouldn't be able to shot me with it if they got it from me. And something that will stop someone dead, litteraly, in their tracks. (Don't get me wrong I pray I never have to use it!)

It has been over ten years now, that the Supreme Court found Ohio's method of funding schools unconstitutional. Nothing has changed since that ruling. I realize that voters elect the individuals responsible for correcting the problem. The politicians wish to keep their seat in office and don't want to make waves. However, can't the court enforce some sort of action to take place?
Meanwhile, while we wait for something to change, the education of Ohio's children suffers.

There is a dispute at work between myself and 2 other managers. I went to executive level HR management and they said that no one is 100% right. They ran their investigation, and told me that they decided to transfer me. They did not ask me if I was comfortable with it. Is this legal? If I refuse to do it, can they terminate me? Should they have to compensate me for my additional mileage and driving time?

My teacher heard my friend talking about this. She can't be emancipated, but finds it almost impossible to live with her parents. She wants to live independently,not to go wild, but to lead a semi peaceful life so she can get through high school. In the state of florida !! We live together but are not and have not ever been married the children are not biologicly his. Does the state have any right to put him on probation and fine him $300 along with myself (probation and $300 fine)for the kids missing too many days during the 06-07 school year.. LAST YEAR!

I was talking 2 someone on here who was 27 and am 16. I talked to him for about 3days. Then I read his questions and it was saying how he should Just kill himself. And he wants to die. Well since 8 i wanted to do it, And Finally i joined this year. I gotta call from my parents saying that they are cutting my tuition, any financial help, and not to return home. Well now i am very upset, and I dont know what to do. I am GMC Cadet not a scholarship cadet, but i really don't want to quit. All my life, I just dreamed of being an AF Officer. Everything in my life revolved around the idea of being an officer. I haven even accepted in my life that i won't be rich or anything, because i will be in the military. I always did well in school with the only motivation that i need to do well to become a officer. Its over now. I am done.

When a Republican is called racist, they quickly refer to the civil rights era and explain how they helped aid minorities. They also bring up how they created NAACP, affirmative action, and the civil rights act of 1964. But when they are NOT under defense, they bash Democrats for "enabling" minorities with these things. Republicans refer to NAACP as being unfair because it only supports a certain ethnicity and they believe affirmative action is an unfair act. I don't get it, do Republicans support NAACP, affirmative action, etc. or not.
I've learned that the Democrats NOW are the OLD Republicans from the 60's. Southern Democrats from the 60's migrated to the Republican party.
