what if you had an abusive family background, a childhood in an area of deprivation, low career expectations, a bog-standard state education, low quality healthcare (meaning that if and when you get ill you have to survive on state benefits) and then see if youre quite as convinced of your arguments.

what if your loved-ones got ill so you had to quit work and care for them?

what if your firm went bust so that you suddenly find youre too old to get a new job?

what if you had to suffer the humiliation of choosing between working for McDonalds or going on welfare?

what if you had to watch as your old friends deserted you, considered you to be a lazy piece of welfare scum, or as too lazy/stupid to get a new job?

Die-hard capitalist here. What you have described sucks. Big time. I feel so bad for the people who have to face such things. It's a shame that in such a wealthy nation we have such problems still. However, there are cold, hard facts that prove the free market works. Look at us. We are in amazing shape considering what other countries face. This is unprecedented wealth here and most of our citizens are flourishing. Yes the rich are getting richer at a much faster pace than the poor, but the poor are getting richer too! Hopefully, we can solve the problems that still face some of these people, and though it may not seem like it now, capitalism is the answer. Socialized medicine in Europe is failing them. It sounds great in theory, but ask the people who have to wait in line for days to see a second rate doctor how they feel. Plus, the socialized economies are far from flourishing. It doesn't work. Capitalism does. And if we can continue to grow, we can someday solve the sad situations faced by some of our citizens. :)

I hear what you say and although I despise the greedy, I value my freedom...

I would rather live on the streets and be free, than be subject to another...

It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than a rich man to enter the kingdom of God... ( Just a reminder for the greedy rich fools..)

What the hell has this got to do with capitalism or communism?
I cannot detect a concise question anywhere in your rant!

i'd still be an anti-communist capitalist. freedom is one of the greatest things God gave us, and communism is near opposite of freedom. i just wouldn't feel right about burdoning the taxpayers with my problems under the threat of incarceration by government forces. doesn't feel right.
