First blackwater and now this....

WASHINGTON - Army snipers hunting insurgents in Iraq were under orders to "bait" their targets with suspicious materials, such as detonation cords, and then kill whoever picked up the items, according to the defense attorney for a soldier accused of planting evidence on an Iraqi he killed. Gary Myers, an attorney for Sgt. Evan Vela, said Monday his client had acted "pursuant to orders."

The transcript of a court hearing for two of the three accused snipers makes several references to the existence of a classified "baiting" program but provides few details of how it works. A copy of the transcript was provided to The Associated Press by Vela's father.

The Washington Post, which first reported the existence of the "baiting" program, cited the sworn statement of Capt. Matthew P. Didier, the leader of a Ranger sniper scout platoon.

"Baiting is putting an object out there that we know they will use, with the intention of destroying the enemy," Didier said in the statement. "Basically, we would put an item out there and watch it. If someone found the item, picked it up and attempted to leave with the item, we would engage the individual as I saw this as a sign they would use the item against U.S. forces."

The Post said the program was devised by the Army's Asymmetric Warfare Group, which advises commanders on more effective methods in today's unconventional conflicts, including ways to combat roadside bombs.

In August I went on a gulet cruise in Turkey which was spoilt by a child being on board the boat. His mother started a relationship with the Captain of the boat, leaving the child to his own devices, which caused disruption to other passengers and raised serious health and safety issues. The Captain also left the boat with the child's mother on a number of occasions, and they spent a considerable amount of time in his cabin. This is my real concern, because his lack of attention was dangerous and caused all passengers problems.

I have sent letters to the companies involved, but am dissatisfied with the lack of response - they are supposed to be ringing me back today.

I now want a full, or at least substantial refund. I have not had to complain about a holiday before so I'm not sure what companies to contact with regard to making a claim.

Thanks for any advice.

Hi. My husband left early this year. Before leaving he persuaded me to increase the morgage to pay off some loans thet were in his name only. He promised to pay the morgage for 5 years. He then said 2 years. Infact he never paid it at all. He has only given me basic child support as per CSA guidlines. And he has defaulted on that a couple of times. He now tells me he is likely to go bankrupt shortly. His name is on the morgage. The building society wont take his name off the morgage as they say i cant aford it... even though it is me alone who has paid it for the last 9 months. My question is what will happen to the house in the event of his bancrupcy? Who will be responsible for finding My young son and I a home? I cant aford to see a solicetor they charge too much. I have a new partner and he is willing to sell his house and buy this one. Is it likely the reciever and building society will give my partner time to sell his house? Thankyou.

How typical that the leader of a foreign country could visit the US and be on the receiving end of abuse and ridicule from a high racking US academic, without a word of protest about his treatment by Doggy Rice. The USA exhibits such arrogance, yet its people wonder why they are hated so much.

Freedom of Speech?..., more like Bush's rent a crowd getting a few extra dollars to make a scene. Hatred of the USA will only escalate, for no other reason than seeing the hypocrisy of USA democracy.

It really is the pot calling the kettle black. I can't wait for the downfall of the USA...it certainly is coming soon.

Picture this scenario witnessed at a party (as told to me): A group of people were gathered discussing Bush and the Iraq war. One young Lib (who, seemingly, had done his homework) was spouting facts and figures to back his case for bringing the troops home. A near-by Bush supporter sat silently smirking for several minutes as the Lib droned on. At the first lull, the Con piped up...."Buddy, if you're not with us, you're with them!" A few high-fives, pats on the back from neighboring Bushies - and that was that. Game over. The Lib walked away - shaking his head and mumbling under his breath. (The person relating this story didn't hear exactly what he mumbled, but thought it sounded something like "how'd he do that?" or possibly "Howdy Doody".) With nine short words, he'd been both shut down and shamed! This made me think: If the stuation had been reversed, what could the Lib have said? Can't those Dems give even that much? a slogan or two? such as Bush spouts (ad nauseum)?

It was more Tory than cameron could ever do.
- British Jobs for British people, had Micheal Howard stated that, the Guardian would play havoc at the xenophobia.
-Punishing absent fathers - Labour laughed when John Major suggested it.
-Health and education policies were straight from the Tory manifesto.
-Less paperwork for Police on the beat
- Stop and search powers.

Not much mention of the Unions either, the point is the Unions bloody loved it, so does that mean they are Tories in Disguise?
The best one was repatriate immigrants who sell drugs or carry weapons - its all crap. talk good do nothing. The European Court of will put a stop to that!
