I took a course a while back and bought the course books to go with it. I finished the course and now have no use for the books. They are still in good condition and i paid a LOT of money for them. I decided to post them on Ebay. I received a message from a course representative stating that what I was doing was illegal and would be persecuted. I checked my enrollment papers saw the fine print that states "The program materials... are licensed to the applicant or student only, are nontransferrable and may not be sold or given to a third party."

I'm confused. I had always thought that if I purchased something it was then MINE and I could decided what to do with it. I know that reproducing materials is illegal, but do they really have the legal right to state that I can't give the books away or resell them?

Iraq war erodes military’s abilities: Pentagon

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. military's operations in Iraq and Afghanistan have constrained its ability to tackle other potential conflicts, making any future war more likely to be longer and bloodier, according to America's top general.

In an annual classified report required by Congress, Air Force Gen. Richard Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said stress on manpower and equipment could limit the ability to win other possible wars as quickly as the Pentagon had previously forecast, defense officials said on Tuesday.

De-Baathification

"The report, delivered to Congress, is the Bush administration's own assessment of the situation in Iraq.
But failure was registered in meeting seven benchmarks, including:

1.the equitable distribution of hydrocarbon resources (OIL)
2.increasing the number of Iraqi security forces able to operate independently
3.ensuring that Iraq's political authorities are not undermining or making false accusations against foreign forces

The report also said it was too early to assess two benchmarks - amnesty legislation and a militia disarmament programme. (After 4 years ?)

Applying for a federal law enforcement position and the medical records asks if I ever had an "emotionally stressed or mental condition, and if I had even seen a psychatrist." Over 6 years ago I did see a psychatrist (1 time) because I was feeling homesick in my first year of college. She prescribed me an anti-depressant which I took for about 5-6 months. I haven't seen a psychatrist (or any type of counselor) or been on any medication since that single time. Do you think this will still prevent me from getting the job?

Scenario: A teen is given a neighbor's key to feed the cat while they are away. One night he invites over several friends for a little "party" the people who owned the home find out and file a police report. All kids are questioned about the party. Can all be charged with burglary/unlawful entry.? Or is it solely the boy "who had the key" his responsibility? It is not as if anyone broke in/kicked down the door or forced their way in. Any insight?

Uh, excuse me, Mr. Cheney, I hate to burst your bubble, but there ALREADY seems to be a bit of chaos in Iraq, you know? We can put US troops in the middle of this chaos where they can (and will) get killed, OR, we can bring them home where they are very much LESS likely to be killed. The Iraqi chaos will get along just fine without us.

MOREOVER, if you were REALLY so concerned about Iraqi chaos, perhaps you should not have invaded this country, deposing and executing one of the few men in the world who was capable of governing this mess? I guess now you perhaps have a little bit of insight into his methods of government, yes? They seemed a little distasteful to us, didn't they? Nevertheless, his harsh methods generated a stable government that was able to rule these people with a minimum of violence. He did a hell of a lot better job than we're doing, didn't he? Hope you've learned something about the Middle East from all of this you sorry sack of horse sh*t...

The general gist of it is people are plaining they are getting second hand smoke because of neibors. This only applies to people they are attached to like an apartment or a condo.

The talk of this ban is only a few years after the ban of smoking in all bussiness's and at least 25 feet from any door or window. That includes bars. (an FYI for those who do not live in WA state.)

Here is the article.

Bush admin. allowed relatives (and their entourages) of Osama bin Laden, the man who admitted responsibility for the attacks on Sept 11, to leave the country when everyone in the US was not allowed to fly ANY type of aircraft in US airspace. The bin Ladens were removed from the US without being debriefed about Osama Bin Laden by the FBI; Bush,,despite spending trillions of dollars on war on terror still has not caught Osama

Lets take out the argument of insest, rape or life and death for the mother. Those instances hold more water and are more debatable.

Let's focus on, to what I am sure is the 90% usage of abortion.... Birth Control.

I constantly see on this sight where it is stated that the government should have no say in a womans reproductive system. Last I checked... no one from the government sneaks in at night and inpregnates a woman against her will... or makes it law that they get pregnant at any given time or date.

The real reason libs want it is so they can shirk all responsibility. They have grown into such a selfish, entitlement based group that just stinks of hypocrisy. The government has nothing to do with your internal organs or your casual sex life. You and you alone do... and when you screw up... try a little responsibility.

You will cry out for those killed in a war yet you give no thought to the innocent baby YOU helped to create.

HUNTSVILLE, AL—For the 143rd straight year since Gen. Robert E. Lee's surrender at Appomattox, representatives for the South announced Monday that the region has postponed plans to rise again.

"Make no mistake, the South shall rise again," said Knox Pritchard, president of the Huntsville-based Alliance Of Confederate States. "But we're just not quite ready to do it now. Hopefully, we'll be able to rise again real soon, maybe even in 2008."

"Yes, sir. The South will rise again, and when it does, I'll be right up front waving the Stars and Bars," said Dock Mullins of Decatur, GA. "But first, I gotta get my truck fixed and get that rusty old stove out of my yard."
