I got hung up and in the process of trying to free myself I fell 30 feet from the tower. I broke my leg, my back and messed up my right arm and hand.

During my stay in the hospital my boss told my wife not to worry about a thing because the company would take care of us. That was the last time the company had anything to do with me or my family. Workmans comp pays less than half of what I was making.

So, do I have a legal case against them or should I just forget about it and get on with life?

Well I work at a country Bumpkin gas station in Louisiana. I work 60 hours a week at 6.50 an hour and get paid with a personal check (no taxes taken out) no over time.. the owners turn in my pay to a cpa so I will have to file my taxes at the end of the year...The are elderly and tell me they can't afford to pay me overtime or give me a raise so I just stick it out... but damnit I am tired of running this store for them and feel like legally they aren't doing things the right way, and it is me who going to be screwed at the end of the year.. don't tell me to get another job because I live in the middle of nowhere and this place is just 1 mile away so it is a matter of conveinance.. someone who knows SOMETHING let me know~!

Or is there no responsibility?

I guarantee that if I knew many of you at work or in my neighborhood, unless you were a shady criminal or a pedophile, I would probably like you and get along well with you.

What is it about this format that causes us to get so hostile? Is it the impersonality of it or is it simply politics? Or the combination thereof?

Politics have always divided people throughout history but, it seems that it is always the politicians who dictate the policy and profit from it. This is not to say that we don’t need politicians, we do but, how do we ensure they do what we want? But sometimes what we want is so different that a clear compromise cannot be reached. One side or the other just has to deal…

I am just rambling now, what are your thoughts?

Do I even have to go? Can you file an OSC for the exact same visitation order? The order has the exact same times and day. I dont believe his paperwork is filed right and I plan on not going. Our case was transferred to a different county and he has requested this osc in another county. He does not pay support at all and I can not afford to keep returning to court in which he is a no show. He also has scheduled 4 mediations in which he does not show. Why should I waste more money on an attorney? He already has an order and he should follow it.

...WOULD YOU LEAVE YOUR PARTY?

I would.

And I'm not talking about Ron Paul, either, he has some "black issues" and used to write for a radical rightwing rag.

This is a serious question.

If the American public could come up with a well-spoken, smart, rational person...would you leave your party?

FERNDALE -- A man in Ferndale facing his eighth drunken driving charge is also wanted by the Department of Homeland Security for failing to report to officials there as scheduled, according to a court report.Salwan Brihko, 44, of West Bloomfield Township, is in this country illegally and was supposed to be reporting every three months to Homeland Security officials, according to a pre-trial services report.

However, the U.S. is not returning any illegal immigrants to Iraq at this point because of the war, the report said.

Ferndale 43rd District Judge Joseph Longo refused to lower Brihko's $505,000 bond at a hearing Thursday.

"There is a detainer on him from Homeland Security," Longo said. "The point of bail is moot."

Brihko waived his right to a preliminary examination Thursday on a felony charge of driving while intoxicated three or more times, and was ordered to stand trial in Oakland County Circuit Court.

Brihko could be sentenced up to five years in prison if convicted.

He already has at least seven drunken driving convictions, which prosecutors say he racked up between 1984 and 2004.

Brihko was sentenced to a year in jail after each of his last two drunken driving convictions.

Additionally, Brihko's driving license has been suspended since 1985, police said.

Oakland County Assistant Prosecutor Karie Miller said a concerned citizen called Ferndale police Sept. 3 to report the suspect driving drunk and police arrested him a short time later on southbound Woodward Avenue.

Police said Brihko was speeding and swerving in the car he was driving and refused to take a Breathalyzer test after his arrest, though a preliminary test showed he had a blood-alcohol level more than twice the legal limit.

"He hasn't learned and he's putting people in danger," Miller said. "It's our hope he serves the maximum sentence on this charge. I think it's valid that he does prison time."

Think about it. Some advocate that the government take charge of health care, as a "human right."

Assuming for the sake of argument that that is true, would these same people advocate a similar program to provide FOOD to everyone?

Food is unquestionably more essential to survival than health care. No one can survive without food for long! And some people eat very well, at the finest restaruants, while others make do with A&P brand goods.

Should the government take over, to ensure more equality?

Why or why not?

:)

I have never voted for him. I think he brought a great disgrace to our great nations.
It was his journey of revenge for when his daddy was past president. Cause Sadam Hussein tried to assinated his dad.
Not to mention he is thinking poorly on his own pocket book.
So Bush supporters what do you need to vote on next elections to get us back where we used to were 8 years ago?

I'm not an expert, but is it Constitutional to pass a law banning teens from using cell phones while driving without banning other people? I know teens can't buy cigarettes like adults, so is it a similar situation? I'm really not sure so any input would be greatly appreciated.

And what do you propose to address these problems?

For instance, I sometimes have issues and questions about what my insurer covers, and what it does not.

I deal with it by occasionally arguing with the insurance company, and occasionally paying out of pocket for "out of plan" items.

What's your story? Thanks.

This is posted in politics because it's being discussed in the presidential campaign.

My hubby got hurt at work and the Doc told him he can go back to work on light duties and for one week he did... Now he has to go get therapy 3 days a week for the next two weeks, but the thing is he works out of town like hours away and it will not be light duties... Does he go and try to do his best and will that hold his job? Will he get paid to do the driving time to his therapy Appointments? I know that if he does not go he can lose his job, but can they make him do work he is unable to do or like i said should he just go and try it's not like his boss will be with him, but I'm sure he will not get the job done in a timely manner.... Any help on telling me what he should do would be great... Should I call Worker's comp and ask them?

I have heard numerous statements which say we need to deport them just because they make up a big percentage of the prison population. What they don't tell you is that they don't have anything better to do because we continue to discriminate against them stopping them from getting a fair chance in life. I have also heard that we should deport them because Mexico has been deporting their illegal immigrants. Have you people ever heard "An eye for an eye makes us both blind" Whats your opinion about the issue.
