Why is everyone so against illegal immigration?

I have heard numerous statements which say we need to deport them just because they make up a big percentage of the prison population. What they don't tell you is that they don't have anything better to do because we continue to discriminate against them stopping them from getting a fair chance in life. I have also heard that we should deport them because Mexico has been deporting their illegal immigrants. Have you people ever heard "An eye for an eye makes us both blind" Whats your opinion about the issue.

If they want a fair chance then they shold do it LEGALLY. They are criminals the minute they set foot in this country with out permission, whitout papers. They suck our system dry without contributing anything because they work under the table and don't pay taxes. I pay my taxes to support AMERICA, not some ILLEGAL that comes to my country that puts nothing back!

The ILLEGAL immigrants do nothing for the economy but destabilize it, they do nothing for the government but take it's money. They give NOTHING back.

It is not discrimination at all. It is THE LAW. If you killed a person would you say we were dicriminating against you when we put you in jail? No, you deserve to goto jail for the crime you commited. Just as these people need to be sent back to their home country for the crime they commited.

Im all for a "fair chance in life". But THEY are the ones not being fair. They take take take take and do not return. If they want to come here LEGALLY and get a job and pay taxes like the rest of us then GREAT! I say WELCOME! But for them to come to this country and sponge of of OUR tax dollars and contribute nothing in return, I say DEPORTATION!

Do you realize that an ILLEGAL Immigrant has a better chance at government funded housing than a TAX PAYING AMERICAN? Do you realize that an ILLEGAL immigrant has a better chance of FREE MEDICAL than a TAX PAYING AMERICAN? Do you realize that an ILLEGAL Immigrant has a better chance of welfare, food stamps and SOCIAL SECURITY than a TAX PAYING AMERICAN?!?!?!

1. L.A. County has 10 million people. 40% of all workers in L.A. County are working for cash and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants, working without a green card.

3. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.

4. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.

5. Over two-thirds of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal whose births were paid for by taxpayers.

6. Nearly 25% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally.

7. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.

8. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.

9. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.

10. 21 radio stations in L.A. are Spanish language only

The main reason at this point, illegal immigration hurts the country’s economy and it’s people. I know there are a lot a people that are just trying to make a better living of themselves and they should be given the opportunity to stay, if they follow the rules and pay taxes as everybody else. I don’t support deporting people that are not hurting anybody, but they should deport everybody that commits a crime. Also they government should build the wall on the border so we can stop people from crossing and people from dying while crossing.

Well for one thing its illegal thats the first thing. Well if they want a better chance in life, why don't they stay there and make it better? instead of coming here draining our state resources. And if they want to live here, why would they keep waving the mexican flag if they want to live here. And if they move here I consider it to be an insult not to speak English in public. The immigrants of the turn of the 19th century the first thing they did was assimilate into the culture. The immigrants of today are insulting to them. When WWII started. The German immigrants didn't turn on the United States because we was fighting the Germans. They joined the military to fight them as Americans. Nobody minds if people comes to the United States legally, and adds to society, but not if all they are going to be a drain.

Because it is, to use your own words, "illegal". What other illegal acts would you suggest be allowed or simply ignored by the law enforcement community? Are you willing to accept all of the consequences of so-called open borders? Are you aware of all of the consequences?

Mexico, by comparison, has very harsh immigration laws and enforce them without pity against any outsider (including U.S. citizens) who cannot produce proper documentation that supports their presence in Mexico. There is such a thing a "legal" immigration that happens in accordance with U.S. law. People who follow these laws and, in so doing, become U.S. citizens should be welcomed and afforded every opportunity and right that is given to any other citizen of the U.S.

As far as a "fair chance" in life, nobody in the U.S. is stopping that from happening. If the Mexican government and economy cannot reform themselves, then that's hardly a basis for blaming the people of the United States, as your question attempts to do, for that situation in Mexico.

Should we blame the governments of Canada, Mexico, Korea and Japan for killing most of our domestic automobile industry or should we rather blame the U.S. government policies that allowed foreign entities unfair trade and regulatory advantages that allowed the destruction to take place?

Should we blame foreign goverments for killing our televison manufacturing industry (none are made here anymore) or should we blame ourselves for instituting unfair trade agreements that allowed the destruction to happen? The list of industries affected goes on and on and it will grow larger and larger in the future.

The United States is not to blame, nor is it in any way responsible, for the lives and/or welfare of Mexican citizens.
Mexico is a sovereign nation and, as such, is solely responsible for the internal problems and policies operating within its territorial borders. Therefore, your use of the quotation regarding "an eye for an eye" is a colossal mistake and misuse of that phrase since there is no "eye for an eye" judgement being made. Such a question demonstrates a profound lack of knowledge and analytical skill.

Here's a few reasons why we are against ILLEGAL aliens:
1) The illegals cost us over $50 BILLION each year - just CA pays over $9 BILLION.
2) The kids crowd our schools making it hard for teachers.
3) They are destroying our health care system. ERs are going bankrupt.
4) We have disease increases that had been eliminated due to immunizations.
5) Huge increase in gangs, drugs and other crimes.
6) While the illegals don't get welfare, their anchor babies get welfare.
7) They DEMAND rights they don't have.
8) They are criminals just for being here.
9) They take jobs Americans want.
10) Many steal IDs.
11) Many drive poorly in unsafe cars (personal experience in San Diego area).
12) They typically don't assimilate and refuse to speak English.

How's that for a start? Every item is based on FACT, not opinion or emotion. We MUST secure our borders and enforce our laws. Put employers in prison or heavily fine them for breaking the law in hiring the illegals. If there are not jobs, they will leave.

Omg, the key word here is "ILLEGAL"

Now I know that I may be almost impossible to get a visa or whatever and that needs to be improved, but when people say that illegal immigrants aren't criminals they are wrong b/c that is the definition of the word criminal.

What needs to be done is for the Government to encourage legal immigration, not just let them. Easier access to citizenship, those kind of things.

This is not just isolated to the USA. Quite a few European countries are facing similar situations --------- it's become an issue of economics more than anything.

When times are good we as humans tend to throw our doors open and when resources (like jobs and money) are taking heavy hits - we circle our wagons and that's that. No matter what country you live in. That's a group survival instinct.

I've never understood why in the 70s America took it business all the way over to China when our own neighbor, Mexico could have used those jobs and economic consideration - I mean if we are going to outsource - why not in our own hemisphere ????

And its our own dang fault in America that our laws provide the same rights and benefits to non-citizens as citizens are entitled to. Changing those laws is a start - definitely would slow the numbers coming in.

Illegal immigration is ILLEGAL!! duh! They have no right to be here. They are sucking all of OUR tax money out of things that should be put toward OUR country. They protest walking around with mexican flags, well if they love their stupid mother country so much then why don't they go the heck back?! They commit murder, steal, rape, and tons of other crimes. They get everything for freakin' free. Most of them don't speak any english. If they really want to be here they should go throught the steps to become an actual citizen! Otherwise get OUT!
