like Bush said last night when he was comparing them to Korea and saying we would stay forever to protect them from regional instability?
US? Borders?

""At the same time, they understand that their success will require U.S. political, economic, and security engagement that extends beyond my presidency. These Iraqi leaders have asked for an enduring relationship with America. And we are ready to begin building that relationship -- in a way that protects our interests in the region""

If the president would look at the bodies that are laying around, because the Iraqi people keep blowing our soldiers up, he probably would figure out that they don't' want us there anymore.

That's funny. I can see the irony in that. Well Democrats are pushing hard for open borders. They gotta maintain those votes. Bush...well I don't know what he's thinking about amnesty but oh well. As far as Iraq though, yes we need to help stabilize that country since we took out Saddam. To leave them to fall to Al-Queda would just be evil

I think the issues is clouded here. Theres two advantages of having permanent base to protect them.
1. The cover which is protecting from total anarchy if we do leave
2. If we do leave, that means our oil rights is gone too. There will no security to protect the pipelines and the US contractors = Exxon = less profit margins.

love the irony And i am pissed off at bush for neglecting our boarders. I beleive he has to "pick his fights" and he sees Iraq a bigger isue atm. I beleive he has very little support and if he closed the boarders eh will piss off allot of corprate support ans drive the libs to do even more extreemes. Something he cant afford atm. I am very sad about that.

The Iraqi people want the Americans out of their country. It was better off under Saddam's cruel rule, and far less people killed.

Our President has no idea what is really going on in Iraq. He can't get good information in the funny papers. No, seriously, I think he just wants to make sure that his partners in big oil will always have a presence in the area, to assure they will always have access to their all mighty crude oil God.

I think the Iraqi people just want to be left alone.
The U.S. military invaded their homes. They should just be left to live peacefully.
DON'T BELIEVE THE PROPAGANDA!!!!
