Seriously. I just read an editorial about Fred Thompson in which the author goes on and on about how great it is that Fred Thompson is, in the former Senator's words, "just like you".

I don't want a president who is just like me. I'm smart, yes, but I'm not president smart. The economy, the war in Iraq, immigration, bipartisan cooperation, crime, poverty, despair ... who wants an ordinary guy making decisions for these situations?

I appreciate the value of street smarts, but when did every other type of smarts get left out? We don't need an ordinary president; we need an extraordinary one.

Honestly, who wants a president who is just like they are?

My Soldier plaguerized off websites word for word on an essay and my NCO is telling me that she shouldn't be punished because I didn't tell her that she could not plaguerize. I had her write the essay for corrective training.

My recently OB found out that my white blood count was abnormally high. The OB and my primary physician found nothing wrong with me, so they sent me to the hemotologist. Before going to the hemotologist, I made sure that they were in network for my insurance.

The hemotologist did some blood work and determined that I was basically healthy, and the high white blood count was probably related to allergies, pregnancy, or some minor digestive problems I was having. She said I showed no signs of leukemia, but she was going to do a leukemia test, just to rule it out. She said if she had to guess, she'd be like 90% sure that I did not have leukemia.

So off goes the labwork...

A month later, I got a statement from my insurance company saying that a claim had been submitted for $3500 for some lab work, under a doctor I had never heard of. After some investigation on my part, I found out that the hemotologist had sent my blood to a lab, which was NOT covered by my insurance co

This is both the DEMOCRATS and the REPUBLICANS making. Bush Sr. signed it, and Clinton saw to it that it was enforced and Bush Jr. made sure that it was shoved even further with the SPP.

BOTH the parties are guilty of this treason. Don't believe me? Check out the facts of what these both do! They are TELLING OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS THAT THEY DON'T HAVE ANY SAY IN HOW OUR COUNTRY IS RAN! Look at the Mexican truckers here if you don't believe me! I don't know HOW many Congressman have tried to stop it, but they aren't able to because of NAFTA and SPP agreements.

The Haitians are trying to escape persecution and most of them risk their lives trying to make it across dangerous, shark infested waters to get to the United States. Is this discrimination? How fair is that?

Come on now, even if you republicans want us in Iraq for whatever reason you do. I want one of you to admit that the goal line on Iraq keeps moving around. You can want to be in Iraq, just admit that you are willing to say anything to make sure we do.

Regardles what R. Giuliani said, ENTERING THE USA THROUGH ILLEGAL CHANNELS (anything that is untruthful, fake documents, even entering through undesignated entry point) is a FEDERAL FELONY!
Being here is a civil offense, but entering is a federal felony (that is stupidity in itself!)
OK, what if other crimes were handled like they are trying to do on this?
!. Auto theft, If you are able to avoid capture for a predetermind time, you get the title to the car
2. Murder, if you are not cought during a certain amount of time, you have to only pay a fine
3. Arson for hire? Well you were only doing a job that no one else would do and you needed to have a better life, so no harm-no foul. It is really the American, who hired you, who is at fault!

I am sure that there are other equally humorous and insanely stupid examples, but I hope you get the point.
Why enforce any laws at all if we are willing to let 10-20 million lawbreakers go?

or go against his commander in chief...if we all know that a soldier's job is to fight and keep fighting until he is ordered to stop fighting, then why do we pretend to believe that Petraeus would give any other report than one saying ....things are rosy and and will get rosier if we stay the course...but it wont be easy? Why do americans pretend so much? It kind of reminds me of another phenomenon called the santa clause phenomenon.

I received this email from a Liberal yesterday, after having asked a question to the Military. I have left out names for understandable reasons. Now, what say you about this Liberal and his words about our military?

You have received a message from another user!

From: (left out)

Subject: Good question

Message: Dear rightwinger;

Loved the way you question brought all the hate and pus right out of the military. They hate my non-facist guts. Some patriotism they got there. I am totally unrelated to anything to do with the military and I can see by the vitriol by those right wing nuts I am not missing much.

I swear nothing hates an a non-facist/conservative American more virulantly than a military man. They're nuts, are they not? Also, I reported (name left out) for swearing and "cowardly Blankheads".

You all need to get a life

Does Congress leaving impeachment "off the table" put President Bush in any danger? The authors of the US constitution put impeachment in as the recourse to remove a bad President.

Given the fact that polls show 35-45% of Americans approving of impeachment, and congress's unwillingness to do it, might this possibly put Bush in danger from extremists?

In case you haven't heard, there's a pretty organized movement calling for impeachment right now. There will be a mass march on Washington on the 15th.

See: http://www.impeachbush.org/site/pageserv... and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/movement_to...

And to those who pointed out my folly in asking this SAME question before, which I removed because I admittedly framed it badly, I believe in peaceful solutions-- not violent extremism.

I am just asking a controversial question, as I tend to do once and a while. I even read controversial books-- that's part of being American.

My 10 year old is fascinated with the armed forces, and says when he gets older he would like to join. He's brought me postcards from inside magazines, from the Marines and the Army that you fill out to get information on joining, and asks if he can send them in. He want's to visit the websites, etc...What would your reaction be to this?
